You can hope and pray Jose takes pity on us and 'fancies Everton', or you can offer the money to a manager who has the pedigree in Italy and turn Everton into the powerhouse we deserve.

Milan, Juventus. The biggest clubs in Italy and we're arsing about looking at Eddie Howe and rubbing prayer beads hoping Jose gets bored enough to manage us.

THIS man will bring us to greatness.

So you’re saying......he “failed” at Cagliari 10 years ago and has only ever managed in Italy?

Not for me then, thanks. Shades of Howe.

I think what you mean to say is he's 'crap' when he doesn't have some of the best players in the world at his disposal. Funny that isn't it? Equally funny that there are practically no examples of the 'best' managers going to an Everton like club and through sheer force of their brilliance turning them into champs. They always go to clubs where their relative financial wealth makes them all but guaranteed to succeed and furnish their reputation for exceptional management.

We could have Roy of the Rovers take over and we would still bang our heads on the 6th pace ceiling.

I think a manager’s true ability is tested if he is given a poll of average players and can punch above its height.

I believe 6th is the ceiling for the time being, sadly. With Martinez and Silva we won’t achieve anything at club levels because they can’t setup a defence which is the basis of a solid team.

And how many of the managers regarded as the best in the business have done that over the past 20-30 years? And for clarification, I mean managers who were regarded as top managers rather than those who were up and coming (ie no Mourinho at Porto or Ferguson at Aberdeen).

I can’t name you one. I guess for those above average clubs (in general like Sevilla) managers winning some European trophies like Europa?

As for Everton. Moyes.

Sevilla have the 5th highest wage bill in La Liga, and for the last decade or so have generally finished between 10-5th in the league. I don't have the stats to hand, but given they are pretty high up in the wage bill table in Spain, you would imagine they would be one of the biggest spenders in the Europa League.
