Coutinho plays all over the place in that attacking three behind Sturridge or Sterling, it's a poor excuse. If Barkley is going to ever live up to expectations he should be able to put in a good performance out wide or through the middle.
Not necessarily, some players thrive in one position. Barkley's position is not the wing, he shouldn't be getting moved out of his best position for Naismith.

I'm not excusing the woeful season he has had, but it could be a contributing factor.

Both Ross and Martinez are to blame IMO. Ross just hasn't reached anywhere near the heights of last season. But last year he wasn't moved around like he has been this season. But when he has been in his favoured '10' role he hasn't played well. Anywhere else (bar the QPR game) he's been ineffective.

Surely momentum plays a part? Personally I thought he had a decent game last week, looked at the line up yesterday and you see him dropped. Martinez has a lot to answer for.

IMO he will not last as our manager. He is too stubborn to change his ways and his ways are currently seeing us in the bottom half of the table. Last season was the exception to his record in the Premier League, not this season.

Mainly in the fa cup against championship opposition. I'd take barkley at him best over him at his best.

For the record, as a number 10, Osman is the best we have in the squad and I would take him over Coutinho.

Obviously not judging by the run of games we had before villa

Outside of United (who just lost to WBA at home) we hardly played any great shakes. We made hard work of beating 10 man Burnley too. As soon as expectation picked up again after that United result, we put in our worst performance for a while.

I agree. Martinez has made many errors this season and his handling of a talent like Ross has been one of them. However Ross also needs to look at himself in the mirror (as do many players) for the way he has performed this season.

The sqaud depth is rubbish, but you could list as many names from spurs and the RS benches who wouldn't get into the others squads, and with the exception of Lloris/Mignolet not a single player from either of their first XI would get into ours.
Did I just read that????
What about coutinho, erikkson, sturridge, Kane, sterling,

But his previous seasons were with Wigan, were you expecting him to get regular top half finishes with them?
