He hasn't played a load more games than he did last season.

It's not necessarily the amount of games, it's more of playing back to back games, Thurs - Sun, which has affected him most I'd say.

But then there were many times this season when McCarthy and Gibson were both injured so that forced Barry into playing if anything.

Anyway, next year I'd hope to see him rotated with Besic more.

Barry has been on fine form the last few games. Players go through bad patches. As one of our players of the season last year Martinez had every right to continue playing him.

And he really wasn't as bad as people make out.

He has been absolutely abysmal for the majority of the season. Like the rest of the team is now strolling around with the pressure off. Fine that he had to cover injuries, but when all fit he shouldn't get in ahead of Gibson or Besic.

Nope.
And Nope.
It seems as though the hype train is chugging along nicely here.
Barry is at the moment a better player than Besic.
Besic is a raw diamond, a player with unrealised potential as of yet. Yes he's shown plenty of promise in his debut season moving from Hungary.
That is something to be congratulated and something which gives hope for the future, that we might have something special on our hands.
But despite all that, Barry is the better player at the moment, by a reasonable margin.
Gibson is a different matter, but he isn't fit so isn't in the equation.
Barry was overplayed this season due to injuries and Europe. He's looked like the player he was last season when he's had time to recover between games instead of having to play the full 90 every couple of days.

Barry's had a some good games recently but some people seem to have forgotten that he's been dire for most of to season. There's no way that Besic wouldn't have been a better option, despite his faults.

Again the myth of the Europa. Barry was abysmal over the period when the Europa took a break. This was one game a week in Jan and Feb and he was awful. He has also been really bad after returning from suspensions so fatigue is not the issue. He's beginning to look passable again as a player because McCarthy is back in form covering his deficiencies. If he got injured Barry's huge limitations would be exposed again like they have been most of the season.

Let's see how he does next season if he's not up to the job, let's see how Eddie Howe gets on next season he's highly rated and hes a blue

Didn't realise he was a Blue

Same.

There are also Howe’s boyhood allegiances to factor in.

“One of the very first games I remember watching was the Cup Final when Everton beat Watford in 1984 and it left a huge impression on me,” he added. “From that moment on I was a real diehard Everton fan. I used to travel and watch the games in London and Southampton and turned into a big fan. I still look out for their results.

“As a kid I always wanted to see Everton beat Liverpool, but this will be a case of Bournemouth trying to beat them rather than seeing it from an Everton perspective.”

So we play Manchester United, a team who neded to win that match to pretty much secure 4th, beat them 3 0 then he changes that winning side?

Won't be any different next season. Howard and Baery will still be the first names on the team sheet. He'll still change the line up every week. He still won't play any progressive passers in the middle.
