Dave although I think most of us think your 100% right in your assumptions I guess coming on here and asking a few questions and hoping the chairman does something is the nearest we can get to try and get something done, because for the last 4 or 5 months the fans have watched the same mistakes being made and nothing is being done to rectify them. I personally feel so helpless that there is nothing I can do to help my club.
But how does it help to just constantly vent?

There's no intelligence to most of it, it's just a scream into a vast canyon. My point was that if the situation is so dire and moving their way regarding a new manager coming in: why all the fireworks?

You watched the European campaign? Dont you see something there that points to last season's form...something that, with the right purchases, can be ours again next season?
With the right purchases. Mate since he's come in he's bought and borrowed wide men yet we play with naismith or Barkley on the left. Where's the logic there? What's the grand plan? There isn't one. I'm hopeful he and the players can turn it around but this season he's really made himself look inept.

Dave, you're doing a sterling job at partially throttling your own argument & many of the arguments on the entire thread....yeah, if we CAN see snippets of last season in some EL games then why can't that be applied to PL games? Whose issue is that if it isn't the managers? And you keep mentioning this weird 'build' based on next seasons purchases....do tell mate, what'll be the draw to come here then, to a unquestionably demoralized, potentially threadbare squad that avoided relegation by 3 points and has a manager who intends seeing out the new campaign playing the SAME feeeenominal system....

Unless you're in the knack of course, caked in good jam and just generally digging the wind up?

He's bought a lot of good players too, and you know it.

Cant believe I'm reading this.

Such loyalty and class.

You want that channel to get stuck into an Everton manager for the crime of failing to, as yet, got enough points for safety?

Unbelievable.

And apparently "proper Evertonians" would want Martinez fired.

This place has gone to the pot.

Both QPR and Burnley have very difficult opponents. I dont expect either to win. Maybe one will pick up a point...then it's down to us on the following day to put 8/9 points distance between us.

If that happens, I think we can all agree this season is practically safe.

I've changed my vote to give him time... which for me is Newcastle. Surely our luck must change soon and we get a win.

Loyalty & Class...????

Everyone with a different opinion to yours you're referencing as a KOPITE...????

He has. But what's the point if he doesn't play them?

I'm a big fan of what he's trying to do but he's lost the plot this season. I don't think you can deny that.

Our biggest threat for the last few years has been the way our full backs link up with the men in front of them. Putting three defensive midfielders in and playing central attacking midfielders on one wing has throttled the creativity we had last season. The link up play is gone, we create bugger all and rarely keep clean sheets.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to turn it around. It's the fear of relegation though. We have literally sleepwalked into a relegation battle this season. It really is a genuine possibility we go down if he stays in charge and if I'm honest Martinez hasn't shown enough this season to suggest he can turn it around.

I'd say sitting watching Sky News and hoping for breaking news is very unclassy and disloyal. Maybe you should actually read the post he's replying to instead of jumping right in and making a diddle of yourself.

It's besides the point. I've tackled this a million times. The trigger point is the important one to note. Only that. It's not a comparison of quality.
So if we had 3 teams like Derby 07/08 and they generated likes of 10-15 points whole season, our manager should be safe when he's reached 30 because the gap is big enough? We have some standards and it doesn't matter who's playing below us and how many points they have FFS.

Come on, how stupid is this
