Where's the poll to get rid of our players? Martinez's decisions have certainly become baffling and indefensible, but I still think there aren't enough questions being asked of the players that are responsible for the performances on the pitch. Spare me the argument that they're losing faith in the manager. It's still their job to go out and play hard and give a ****. Once you put on that Everton kit, you play for the fans, not the manager. Being played out of their ideal positions doesn't excuse the inability to trap a ball, pass accurately, close down a player on the ball, etc. Lately their performances, man for man, have been nothing short of embarrassing. Fundamentally, right now these players are a joke, and that's on them, not the manager. And it's all made worse by the fact that we have such an anonymous captain, who seems incapable of doing anything to fire up this team.

Don't get me wrong, Martinez deserves all the stick he gets, but the players have been just as bad. It's a shame they can't all be dropped.

That's my rant for today.

I would never judge a person for their opinion but im amazed that 128 people (so far it will no doubt increase as will the out category) have voted to keep him on.

The only 2 reasons i can personally think of for keeping him include the fact the season is done already so atleast allow him to finish the europa league off before getting rid and the 2nd reason is the part of me that wants to see him achieve as hes not like a lot of self-loving managers who act like fools in the press.

The bottom line for me though is after looking through the results in the prem since 16th April last year we have only won 8 games and think the others results were 10 draws and 15 losses, that is simply not good enough for a team who is known for top 7/8 finishes per season. I can't even accept the overachieving tag from last year either because regardless of last years highest point total we should still expect atleast top 8 even with europa league fixtures and he simply hasn't delivered what is required of a club our size and support base, this isn't wigan being the ever optimist and little fan backlash will not happen at a team who expects decent results.

We're not playing good football + we're not really playing defensive football either as we are open at pretty much every counter attack the opposition tries so the 3 DMs in midfield in baffling at times.

I thank him for installing a belief in the youngsters last year and will happily say in my 21 years its the best football i had seen everton play but i no longer trust him to run the club we all love. I don't want another season of this, we can't expect what happened to Moyes to happen with Martinez, Moyes had no money the year we finished 17th the Rooney money allowed him to build us in to the top half finish team we became, Martinez has already had the financial backing and that won't happen again this summer because i don't think the fee used on Lukaku has justified trusting him with a large amount of money at least imo anyway.

If he stays the remainder of the season as long as he doesn't get us relegated (which people should not count out, its all good saying 3 teams are worse than us when majority of this season we have been in the bottom 3 of the form table behind every other team) I would happily see him leave and have the memories from his first year and try to imagine his record breaking 2nd year didn't happen but if he is trusted and given the summer to rebuild if we are still playing people out of position / struggling to win games or even just playing badly consistently he can't survive more than October/November next season.

Do you really think Kenwright will be up for paying the money required to sack him?

And then the potential money to hire the new manager?

I'm not so sure.

Not today, no he won't.

But if we continue to lose and two of Villa, Burnley and QPR put on a run then business rules may well take over.
Luckily the number of totally gash teams in the Premiership has given us a gap to play with and therefore buys Martinez some time.

If this looked like a season where you'd actually need 40 points to stay up then it would very much be squeaky bum time

Good or horribly bad thing is we play all three clubs. Win the 3 and it's easy, lose the 3 and we're in deep doodie

He is one of the best young managers in Europe, just look at what happened to Dortmund this season with Klopp. We need to stick by him.

This.

Leicester a couple of weeks ago was the final straw for me. It'll take a lot for him to win back my confidence and I don't even play for him.

He managed to turn it around with 15 games left and won four on the bounce. We have 10 games left and nothing looks like changing. I don't see him getting fired so I'm just hoping luck can get the points needed

Another difference is that Dortmund kept producing enormous amount of chances without anyone to finish them earlier this season. We have even failed to create those chances.
