It's do or die in the next fortnight for me. Two weeks before our next game and we have two options for me. Get players out, back the manager and spend some money, or get rid of Martinez and try something new. Either way, somethings got to give because our stale start to the season is now turning into what feels like a nightmare to me. Smacks of 01/02 (okay-ish start fading away into having dis-interested players and struggling to get a point.) In our next six games in the league we have:

Palace (A) Draw
Liverpool (H) Win
Chelsea (A) Loss
Leicester (H) Win
Arsenal (A) Loss
Stoke (A
) Draw

I honestly struggle to see how we'll get more than three points from those the way we are playing. After that we have 10 games left, and we could only have 26 points. Fancy a 'great escape' with the weak characters we have in the squad? I don't. We can play nice football and still press, like last season. We have nothing- we can't counter as teams are happy to sit back and wait for us to give them the ball. So annoyed it's unbelievable as all of the hard work we've done could be unravelling and we start back where we were at the end of the Walter Smith days. Players will not be hanging around (Eto'o and now by the looks of it Mirallas.)

Maybe this is kneejerk (I may feel different tomorrow) but right now I'm absolutely gutted as we have no cutting edge, and players that won't be motivated by a relegation struggle.
Fixed. There you go mate 2-2-2 for mid table mediocrity Bill Kenwright style ;)

I genuinely feel for the lads who want Martinez out. There's a sizeable amount of you, but just not significant in numbers. That's because, though it's a dire season, we have a manager who has proven what he can do in this division and who has the support of most supporters and the club.

I hate seeing wasted energy. It's futile to try and get others to join the small rebellion.

We're 12th. Not great, but way out of the panic button zone.

What? The sideways and backwards tiki taka is Martinez 'philosophy'. They're trying to walk the ball into the net and thats down to him. Foster had a cigar on as a result
Martinez is telling them not to shoot from the edge of the box? Cmon. Besic was taking shots from 30 yards. Yet the likes of Barkley, Barry and Naismith could not take one to save themselves

Why did we play 4 at the back today, when we knew they would hardly attack.

We should have played 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1.

Put a extra man in midfield - RM is clueless.

If we do not beat CP then we looked doomed. That will mean no win in 14, and with RS and Chelsea that will mean no wins in 16.

Then we play Leicester at home (another team with 10 men begind the ball), if we fail to win that then he has to be sacked.

So the manager takes no responsibility for us creating next to nothing again then?

We're predictable and one paced when he insists on the slow build up. He stated his determination to his tiki taka philosophy yesterday after a couple of games were we got the ball forward quicker and did well as a result.
He's one eyed and wants style over results, same as he did at Wigan and they scraped up twice and then fell short and bombed.

Absolutely he does. As I have said many times, he wasn't my choice to manage us, but after surprising us last season, and looking at some of the dross in our squad, I prefer to see out this terrible season ( assuming we stay up) and start rebuilding the playing squad instead. They will have to go anyway because they are crap.
The issue then is, and I am even more so yet to be convinced, is who are our scouts? Because if any of the names we are being linked with are true...we are in long term trouble.

cant see us getting more than 5 pionts out of that lot, chelsea and arsenal, forget now, liverpool got to be favorites , so will go with draws for us v palace , stoke, beat leicester and no confidence of winnig that really

It's hard to attack at pace against a side that sticks 10 men on the edge of there box

You can move the ball quickly in the final third look to stretch them. We just knocked it square across the box and then put a half arsed ball in, which played to their strengths.

Part of the problem is some of the dross, barry, mgeady, Alcaraz, are Bobby's signings.

He really needs a good window.

Lets say............

Martinez wins the FA cup/Europa League

AND

Relegates us.

All forgiven?
