Martinez: “McCarthy should be available for tomorrow”

Not in a secure enough league position to risk being without both him and Besic in the upcoming games. This game is huge but we're nowhere near comfortable in the league.

This is a position we're well stacked in. Stupid to risk a player breaking down who has a history of doing just that. Cleverley will be alright alongside Barry and then there's still Gibson and Osman with big game experience.

this game has got lose written all over it. Which makes me think we'll get a result. I wish at the beginning of the season you could opt just to look at the final league table and all the cup results before they happen. Then I wont have all this pointless hope

Back too soon imo - why risk him when we need him for the home game next week v Newcastle - far more at stake there - rather have a fully fit Cleverley than a half fit McCarthy

I think the only issue with McCathy will be game time. I'm sure his return could have been fast tracked but Besic was there to hold the fort very capably. Coleman was in the same boat and played on Sunday and didn't get a reaction.
That's an abysmal attempt David.

sod it, if he's not fit, Jags and Funes Mori at CB, Stones alongside Barry at DM. Tell him to guard the box as if it's the goal line.

Everyone's a winner. All three CB's play, Stones can have a couple of mistakes without it being too costly and it's no lose from a player development view. If it works, it works, pile the millions on and we have another option in future, if it doesn't then it's Bobby's fault and nobody cares. He doesn't need to get any further up the pitch than normal but if he does its a bonus.
