Player Valuation: £60m
He is on the radio nearly every Saturday in Ireland on TodayFM.They give live commentary on a premiership game and up to date reports on all the others.
Lawrenson is on most Saturdays and is generally very sensible in his comments.

I think that he lives in Preston as does David Moyes and they seem to be friendly as he often mentions conversations they may have had.
On Saturday he said that he had a few beers with David Moyes earlier in the week and David Moyes had said that he was expecting to be active in the market on deadline day.Lawrenson commented that Moyes would have been disappointed with the outcome.

I have been thinking about Moyes and his future at Everton and I think that what we may see is the manager staying but on a shorter contract, maybe one or two years, with release clauses.
It does appear that there was reasonably substantial money available to spend and if Fellaini leaves in the summer(I believe he will) it will further increase the fund available to spend.I think Moyes will find it hard to walk away from what is the best squad since his arrival with the prospect of substantial money to strengthen it further.I realise the loss of Fellaini would certainly weaken the squad as it stands.

Good post mate, pretty much agree with it all.

I really don't fear the loss of fellaini. Yes he's a big part of our team and heavily involved in the way we play and are able to mix it up but... With the money we would get for him, along with tv money and moyes bringing the players in I really think we'd come out the other side a stronger team/squad.

Moyes will stay. Fellaini? What will be will be.
I'm actually very much looking forward to next season. Just hope we can manage to scrape into Europe this season before the real fun starts next season.

Lawrenson wrote a laughable piece in today's Mirror talking about Spurs and their lack of CL ambition because they failed to land a striker.

This is the very same Spurs who seem to back their managers to the hilt during every window, even getting a top player in Holtby this window.

I believe it is us who have screwed up BIG TIME in failing to add numbers to a threadbare squad, yet ole Lawro fails to point the finger at our directors box (just like the rest of the countries media have done for years)

Really annoying read considering at the time of the window closing we were 1 point behind 4th approaching the home straight.

And what kind of manager do we have here? Going out for beers with ex-RS? F*cking disgraceful and NOT the image we at EFC want to give off, no wonder we lose to them most of the time.

What a joke, really.

I don't mind Lawrenson. He is quite objectice in his comments and unlike others he is not absolutely blinded by his time as a Liverpool player.

He is probably right about Spurs being the big losers on deadline day. They have already invested huge sums of money into their squad.I would imagine that they need CL football more than anybody to sustain what must be a frightening wage bill.

That doesn't make our inactivity any more palatable, but I think David Moyes may have a list of targets in mind and couldn't prise those free in January.I think in the summer we will see the arrival of a couple more of the best young talents from the championship.

I think we can manage without Fellaini and there is no doubt that we would benefit from his sale as we could bring in 3-4 great players if he goes for around £30 million. That said, if it were possible to bring in a couple of players and keep Fellaini I would prefer that. I just hope that if he does go, we sell him to a club abroad and not to a club who we are supposedly challenging for European spots in our league.

If we sold Fellaini, then we could realistically get the players that we were linked with this January (Fer and Negredo), plus A.N Other valued at approx £9m, or a number of players equalling that value, if that doesn't strengthen the squad, then i give up.
