People expect response after the derby in December. It well downhill from there. Absolutely horrendous results since then.

The Derby is not affecting this now, imo it’s down to poor management. He’s struggling to motivate, struggling to adapt to tactical changes during the game.

If he wants to prove himself he has 17 days to find an answer. It’s long enough to sit down and review what he’s doing and how he needs to change. Then try and convince the players to buy in to it.

If he can’t or won’t then he’s toast, and he only has himself to blame

He deserves to get the sack in May. I just can’t see he gets 8th let alone 7th. We probably get 11th or 12th.

I really dislike the whinging, useless bell whiff.

Look how he stands on the sidelines flashing his 500k Pounds watch with his arms folded, motionless, unable to even muster any words of encouragement to his players. Can you imagine him verbally slamming his players after each tepid performance?
I highly doubt it. That's what happens when you appoint a meek, spineless manager who can hardly speak English. He probably pulls Jagielka to one side, whispers his instructions into his ear, and then Jagielka relays it to the players in a "don't-worry-lads, we're-all-still-getting-paid" kind of way.

He comes out, week after week, giving the same boring interviews to the media, finding fault with anything but himself. A pure charlitan proven by his behaviour at Watford. As soon as he heard there was a better offer available he downed tools until he got what he wanted.

Get lost will you. It's Brands' job to find the right manager, and he gets paid very, very handsomely for it. Sort it out.

I noticed that at Hull. That was the 1st time I ever thought he wasn't a good motivator or had any ummph in him.

Is his position under threat ?
Is he really out of his depth at Everton ?
Is the work being done on the training ground every day just not good enough, the level of coaching not of a top quality or is it that the players who perform perfectly well in training fall apart on match day ?

The results have been hugely disappointing but I think it is the bigger picture that will determine if he keeps his job. Does Brands still believe that Silva can be a top coach and can ride out the current crisis and be better for it ?

Amazing people saying ‘give him time’

He’s had more than enough time and demonstrated he’s not up to it. The same story as his watford and hull days.

Get rid now

To be fair 7 months to turn things around isn’t that long and in fairness, people are right in saying that prior to Pickford throwing the game at Anfield we looked in pretty decent shape.

Give him a chance, lads. He has been here 2 minutes. We need some stability. Nothing good comes from flip flopping.

In our last 16 games he's lost 10, drew 2 and won 4 and the wins were against Burnley and Cardiff (relagation fodder), Bournemouth (who were in their worst run of form all season) and Lincoln (a leauge two side and we looked ropey in that).

Koeman, Martinez even allerdyce at their worse was never this bad. The past few seasons we've had a pretty good record at home and Silva has managed to destroy that. Crap like west ham, Huddersfield, wolves, Newcastle, Leicester and Watford all came here and took points off us. When was the last time that happened?

I want Silva to do well because I want everton to do well but he's crap! Absolutely crap and he's going to get himself the sack and it'll be nobnoy but his own fault. Tactical genius we were told, can't even get his players to look like their assed.

Think he'll go after the derby. It'll be over 4-0 and the club will be forced to sack him because of the back lash, it's already on a knife edge but if we get a kicking in the derby. That'll be a big turning point for a lot of fans.

To be fair 7 months is not along time to turn things round, but where are the signs that he has turned anything round. Annfield was nearly 3 months ago, so how much time does it take just to settle for a team that can show some form and not look like 11 players who do not understand what the manager wants

Honest question, if this guy for example (Chris Wilder) had exactly the same managerial career as Silva, would we have gone in for him?

I think Moshiri was dreaming of the new Pochetino. Silva looks the part, has the right sorta name, says the right things, but he just hasn't got what it takes.

I still think in spire of everything we have to give him some time, because we are turning around a massive ship that has gone way off course. We still haven't improved from Martinez 3rd season, and Koeman and Allardyce, plus all of the 2017 transfer spending, have messed us up in a way that needs time to fix. Brands and Silva need 2 seasons to be judged on this.

However, the things I am worried about with Silva are:

  • Does he really know his best team?
  • Coleman vs Kenny - I wouldn't be able to guess who's his first choice
  • Sometimes Walcott, Tosun, Siggy, Bernard, then suddenly Lookman, Richarlison, DCL with Siggy behind...his front 4 are decent players, and are not gelling or able to decide how to do this

I think he's got a good squad , but there are some serious issues of competition for places, cos I don't think Pickford, Keane & Zouma, Gana, Richarlison and SIggy really have the pressure to perform - they know there's no serious alternative to their position

I have Chris's number in my phone as I have met him a few times, sold him a car when he was at Northampton Town, decent bloke, down to earth, could he handle the pressure of the Premier League, I'm not sure.
