Meanwhile, Fonseca who we should have gone for instead of this clown has so far played 18 games this season and only lost 1 and has a +34 gd and they are currently top and 7 points ahead of Dynamo Kyiv who are 2nd.

But Silva needs time you see, maybe even years. Going backwards for the last 2 months and being an embarrassment against almost every team in the league and cup competitions is all part of the master plan of forward progression and transition into greatness.

Who'd have thunk.

You do know that he won the Premier League 3 times at Arsenal, a side never out of the top4, of course they didn't save him.

He hadn't won the league since '03-'04. Those 3 FA Cups he won from '13-'17 seemingly weren't enough to save him.

It's almost like that's an overrated competition.

This is Arsenal your talking about, there on a whole different level to Everton, surprised you didn't point out the king Kenny also lost his job after winning a cup, that would be equally irrelevant.

If you think the FA cup is overrated then this clearly isn't the sport for you.

No disrespect mate, but, it is easy to see that you did not grow up In a country where football or ‘soccer’ to you was a major sport.
The FA Cup is no Mickey Mouse competition and I along with most of our fan base would be delighted to see the Blues win it.

That I don't care about a trophy that's equivalent here to winning a college football bowl game? No, I believe it. There are 38 games each year to win the competition everyone cares about. That's the one I want, in due time.

The F.A. Cup has lost some of its shine.

Personally to get it back to its once highly coveted standards - they need to provide the winner with a CL spot. Sack the 4th place team off in the league to achieve this.

It’s why finishing 4th in the league is more of a priority for teams than the cup itself. Sadly.

Money talks.

I would suspect the best thing we can hope for in the next 5 years would be an F.A. Cup however unlikely that looks now.

I think the shine of the FA Cup is directly linked to your involvement in it unlike in the past.

If we were still in it and went on to win it we would think its still a boss competition. As soon as you are knocked out its a mickey mouse cup.

TV has a lot to do with it I reckon. Back in the day people cared about it as it was the only football you would see on telly more often than not and it wasn't lost within a myriad of stations which you have to pay for.

Definitely agree on the active participation being an big influence on how it’s viewed, just think given how hard the cup is - I would like to see them award the winner a CL’s spot. Would just give it a bit more glamour at a time most teams would prefer too 4 than win the cup itself.

By the way. I have never viewed the F.A. Cup as anything other than a boss comp. It’s the only thing we are like to win in the near future and I pray to all the old and new gods we do.
