I mean we're ninth...

I keep banging on about it, but we simply are where we are right now. Bang average.

Average squad. Average manager.

We're one of several bang average sides and we'll finish anywhere from 7th to 13th because none of them are any less inconsistent than us, apart from maybe Wolves, who I'd say as it stands look the best bet for 7th purely cause they do seem capable of stringing some results together and they have a settled system/way of playing that they stick to.

I get your point mate but can you seriously see us finishing even 9th at present? We'll likely be 10th/11th come the end of the Watford game.

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Of course Marco Silva's trends at Watford and Hull City affect us - he is our manager.

In 70 odd premier league games, his teams have consistently conceded the highest number of goals from set pieces, and you're saying that his stints at his previous clubs have no bearing on us.

Baffling.
Those goals conceded at watford and hull don’t count for this year. Currently joint top with west ham and within 2 goals conceded of a lot of other teams. An odd statistic for you lot to harp on. It’s crap but doesn’t define his entire tenure as evertons defense as a whole are right at average

Don't forget the 5 more we conceded in getting dumped out in the early rounds of both cups.

It's the biggest issue of his tenure. It cost us in our biggest game if the season at Millwall. It is a problem that looks to be getting progressively worse. But it's something so basic. That's why ignoring it or playing it down is wrong. There is no excuse for conceding 16 headed set play goals. It's shameful.

Thanks for stating the obvious.

It blows my mind that you don't think his past problems with defending set pieces are relevant, especially given they are historic problem which are now causing us massive issues.

You must agree that he needs to do something to rectify this situation, or he's not going to last?
