All work horses in order to protect and feed arguably the best attacking trio on form in the world last season.
Also with a guy who got 40 goals.
And a CB that cost 75m.
There is no point in you purposely leaving out context and accuracy because people are well aware of the truth.

But for example Liverpool smashed Man City last season on 3 occasions and their first 11 is miles ahead of liverpools.

So disagree entirely that their front 3 being on fire last season was the main cause of their success. Stick Woy/Pardew/Martinez etc as manager and see if they get to a CL final with the same players...

He got them into the CL with lesser players than clubs like Utd and Chelsea and got to a EL and League Cup final when they were still rebuilding and not at the same quality they are now.

The fact is a top manager can get that extra 10% out of players which makes a difference.

Wolves went under a rocky spell this season but their manager got them back in it because he has something about him/a plan.

Whereas we have a dour church mouse as a manager with no clue in how to set up a defence or have a Plan B. Dont get me started on his lack of motivation skills.

Undoubtedly, Klopp does get the absolute best out of the players he has. I do think our particular set of players have a ceiling though, and even a top top manager wouldn’t be able to have them seriously troubling the top 6.

We can’t sack managers every time it goes a bit wrong, I don’t think people appreciate how big of a shambles we were for the last couple of seasons, the back room seems to be getting on track, onfield we are in a rut that the manager should be given the chance to try and get us out of
The worry is looking at silva’s track record at hull and Watford, when the tide begins to turn, he has shown he is unable to turn it around. Believe me no-one wants silva to turn it around more then me (I want every Everton manager to be successful) I’m just not sure he has the credentials or ability to do so.

Styles make fights. Guardiola has publically said that Klopp has built a team to beat the type of team Guardiola has.

How you can say that their front 3 wasn't the main part of them getting through in a cup competition I'll never know. The whole world spoke about those front 3, led by Salah, and their ability to blitz teams.

Yet you're saying it's not?

Oh and Martinez got to a World Cup semi final.

You're all over the shop here.

Mate your a Martinez fan - no disrespect intended but that tells me all I need to know about what qualities you look for in a manager however that clown would have eventually took us down had we not punted him.

Will agree to disagree pal but I'll bet you any amount of money now Silva will be sacked come the end of next season at the latest - like Martinez he just isn't good enough/suited to English football.

lol ok mate, whatever you say.

lol ok mate, whatever you say.

The proof is there mate at his time at Hull, Watford and now us:

1. He cant stop conceeding goals from set pieces

2. He cant turn around a rough patch

3. He doesn't have a Plan B

Those three qualities are essential in succeeding in this league. He should have gone somewhere like Benfica as he would probably be decent in a poorer league - the prems just too much for him.

This is what i dont understand about people saying he needs time, of course he needs time, but there is nothing in his CV and he has shown us nothing since coming here to say that given time he will be able to do anything. He is nothing but a dud and we have backed him, its crazy. Koeman and Martinez got time but they deserved it based on early progress, but his early stages have been decline.

You throw out the Watford and Hull City stats like they affect this season's Everton stats.

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

Of course Marco Silva's trends at Watford and Hull City affect us - he is our manager.

In 70 odd premier league games, his teams have consistently conceded the highest number of goals from set pieces, and you're saying that his stints at his previous clubs have no bearing on us.

Baffling.

The problem is mate our manager doesnt seem capable of seriously troubling the top 10 never mind top 6!

I mean we're ninth...

I keep banging on about it, but we simply are where we are right now. Bang average.

Average squad. Average manager.

We're one of several bang average sides and we'll finish anywhere from 7th to 13th because none of them are any less inconsistent than us, apart from maybe Wolves, who I'd say as it stands look the best bet for 7th purely cause they do seem capable of stringing some results together and they have a settled system/way of playing that they stick to.

We will be 12th or 13th by the time we play the derby. There is not a snowballs chance of us coming 7th. That would mean winning either a string of difficult home games or a string of away games.

I think we will come between 10th and 12th personally. Which is obviously far from good but ok as long as we take something from the derby.
