The maddest thing about the whole Silva out thing is most people called for patience at the start of the season. You all talked about how long it would take to clean up the mess of Walsh, Koeman and Sam. But because Silva managed to get the side playing decent football at the start of the season and we actually competed with big six clubs away from home, you're all on his back at the first bump in the road.

It's not a bump in the road, it's a familiar well worn path for him, he has exactly, actually exactly, the same set piece record and defensive record he's had with all his English clubs. Some might call it a bum i the road, I call it a worrying downward trend.

If Watford were sensible enough to sack him after this run, why shouldn't we. There's standing by someone and then there is suicide.

Again, what is his terrible defensive record? I get the set piece issues. But this team is a massive improvement over last years in terms of conceding goals from open play.

I remember "The best squad we've ever had" shouts when we were playing well.
Me too sadly, personally I save such adulation for a team that achieves a remarkable accomplishment. Something this set off cretins can only dream of.

Hope Brands plys Silva with decent players in the summer. If he fails to show improvements then, and only then will I jump on him. But, we need some stability right now.

What is the terrible defensive record, sorry to put this to you, but set pieces do count you know. It's not good enough, you can lick his bum all you want, he's not doing his job and is rightly getting slated for it.

Never thought I'd see the words 'Watford' and 'sensible' in the same sentence!

However, there may be some truth in your first paragraph, unfortunately. Let's hope not.

Ha ha

Unbelievable its like some people dont even watch us / look at stats and results and just get hard over a fancy named tippy tappy foreign manager.

If he was called Mark Smith who was relegated with Hull, sacked by Watford, an awful set piece conceeding record with 3 clubs, the only manager in PL history to conceede 6 goals with different sides and currently managing a side winning abar 1 in 10 and playing gut wrenching football he would be hounded out.

He can't polish a turd. Maybe sprinkle it with glitter like he did early on but it never lasts.
He's not a miracle worker. He has to make do with what he's got.

If he's still getting the same results with his own players I will be at the head of the queue wanting him sacked.
The new players this season have been our better performers so I am optimistic for the future.

We went from one of the worst teams at conceding goals in the league to one of the better. I’m not licking his numb, I’m just telling you it’s the truth. The fixation on set pieces, while important, at the expense of the rest of the game is silly. Frankly, if Pickford was playing even close to the way he played last year, we’d be in much better shape. I’m sorry if I don’t just brainless say that managers or players just STINK or should be BINNED. Silva deserves credit for a vastly improved defensive side.

It's not brainless, you are allowed to criticise underperformance and I think you will find, I'm actually quite a patient supporter but when you can see it sliding in front of your eyes and not looking like stopping. It is right to start asking questions about his role, he still has the job, he can still turn it around but he has to start tomorrow and even that won't go down well, he's on a hiding to nothing tomorrow.

Set pieces and the amount we concede are forefront of our angst right now, they are costing us big time, of course people are focusing on them.

I’m fine with that. We should be critical. The set piece defending is frustrating. It is indeed right to ask questions about his job. I wasn’t in favor of him coming and not blown away by some of his tactical decisions, especially midmatch. But I just want to be fair and evaluate him within context. He deserves credit for quite a bit honestly.

If others don’t want to use stats in any way, that’s fine. Go watch a couple of our matches last year. That’s what he’s been dealing with.
