But why did he sign those players? Because he had no money to buy better.

Alcaraz - free
McGeady - 2m
Niasse - 13m
Galloway - can't remember but it was buttons
Kone - 6m
Robles - 2.5m
McCarthy - 13.5m?
Traore - loan
Tarasaj - 3m

Koeman got a huge budget and signed

Schneiderlin - 20m
Bolasie - 28m
Keane - 25m
Klaassen - 24m
Rooney - 10m
Pickford - 30m

Allardyce signed
Tosun - 28m
Walcott - 20m

Huge differences. The only time Martinez was given a considerable sum for one player he bought Lukaku for 28m.

Oh how we could have done with that acumen during the Koeman and Allardyce days.

Mate bobby had billions compared to Moyes . Fact is he went and signed 4-5 players from a Wigan team that he took down into the championship. Then brought the back room staff of a relegation team with him, infact the only person in his entire group that is any good is his agent or whoever it was that negotiated his rediculous payout

Indeed.

But you are shaky ground going down that road.

Because that inexpenseively assembled line up is no worse than a list containing Bolasie, Tosun, Martina, Williams, Klassen, Sandro, Steklenberg, Walcott, Keane et al, which saw God knows how many tens of millions squandered in the eighteen months following his departure.

Agreed , our recruitment has been shocking , I never wanted bobby and I didn’t want Kone or any of the Wigan players . I didn’t want koeman and I was fuming when we went for bolasie , I didn’t want Silva and I didn’t want Richarlison either. Obviously fat sam is common knowledge and nobody “ wanted” him. Just because koeman et al have wasted more doesn’t mean bobby with money would have bought decent players , his signings for his entire prem career have been crap bar Valencia at Wigan .

Why did you not want Richarlison?

Your joking right?
I didn't expect 3 to 1. If we go with Gana instead of Davies, Bernard instead of Walcott, Kenny instead of Baines, think we have a decent chance of winning, but I knew we'd lose - and said so - the second I saw the team sheet.

Just like I said in the Gana thread, if we go with Gomes/Davies in central midfield, we'll be lucky to beat anyone and DEFINITELY not a good side. Walcott is a turnover machine at RW and has been the biggest problem in the team all year along with Coleman.

I was okay with the tactics and the idea of dropping Siggy deeper - but Baines getting a Penalty and being completely overmatched and several steps slow was going to leave us in a tough position at some point.

It still all comes down to the summer for me. The board cannot in any good conscience buy players with this bloke at the helm and in charge of coaching them/selecting them. He will have to go on those grounds alone.

If they get Poch we should move for Solsk.
Thing is I don't think they will go for Poch, I don't think he has done enough to justify them taking him.
But will they want Solly? Im not so sure about that either, but if they don't I think our job is to hard for him with this squad. He is only doing well because United have such a good squad who want to play now.
For me it's still Arteta

Dont really understand much of what you've said there but I quite like the idea of arteta being manager.

I have a feeling two poor results against City and Watford could tip the board.

I am talking a heavy defeat like Spurs bad or Koeman's Arsenal and with the break in-between the next game (17 days) I could see the board moving quickly to replace him.
