...I said his team set up today was either very brave or very stupid. 2-6 illustrates it was very stupid. It was like a lightweight boxer deciding to slug it out with a heavyweight.

Very naive, which is a concern.
That was exactly what Martínez served up. Shocking defending and naive tactics to attack no matter who the opposition is.

Trying to me meet fire with fire when you know the opposing team has the better players? Some may call that optimism. I would call it tactical naievety and stupidity. Nothing wrong with a bit of pragmatism- we showed it at Stamford Bridge already this year. Are we too proud to do the same at home? 2-6 doesn’t reflect well on anybody, no matter what positive spin you attempt to put on it.
Yeah good points and each to their own. But with respect, I'll be as positive as I like if I feel there is basis for it. Which I do.
We are the start of a process, some bits of which will be painful. In a year or two, the foundations of this mentality I believe will reap rewards.

It's still too early to want to pull the plug on him, he has gotten a lot of things right in this first few months in charge. That today though, and this month overall really, is completely unacceptable and heads need to roll.

The team has had the stuffing knocked out of it by the derby defeat but his job as manager is to get everyone refocused and hungry again quickly, at that task it's clear he's failed miserably. January is a massive for him, if we come out of that not comfortably back inside the top 8 then questions will rightly be asked.

Bottom half at Christmas when you've had a pretty much a full squad bar one or two all season is not good enough and can't be defended. Needs to buck up.

But a manager who had far better players at his disposal, but I agree with your original point mate.
They are far better and more settled team, but there manager had Silva's card marked from the first minute, with those balls between the centre Half's he didn't react to it at all , which is a worry.
No real shame getting beat by a very good team but to hand them it on a like that on plate is.

It is certainly worrying.

Would love to be a fly on the wall for conversations between Brands and Silva.

Nobody bought into the myth that Brands was on board with Silva in the first place.

It was presented as a fait accompli.
I am far from convinced about Brands either. The Dutch have hardly been an overwhelming success at footy management in England

I would agree there alright.

The bloke from Preston.

The guy from Wigan.

The chap from Southampton.

Old proverbial Big Sam.

The lad who was at Watford.

We don't exactly scour the globe for a manager.
This really. Southampton just did and hire an exciting manager who was sacked for finishing 5th. We hired a guy who was relegated and fired mid season after a miserable run.
