Funny, I felt as though we lost our shape in the back at times, but Mina and Keane haven't played together. I think we can get A LOT better even with the current talent. But tactically, Chelsea did not deal well when we sat with 3 CBs and defended. I LOVE the fact that he plays to our strengths. Gana and Gomes as two central midfielders defending was fantastic.

Silva really is doing a top job.We are competing with, and holding our own against the best sides. We should have got a result at Old Trafford, and the point today was well earned and well deserved.I just can't wait until January, and we hopefully get some new signings in.I'd say the we were better off with Big Sam crowd, must feel like a proper bunch of idiots now.;)

team is evolving and he have a hand in that, i said early on this season as well give him good defenders he will play good defense this poor lad was forced to play with holgate-jagielka and baines early this season. take a look at this game now we have 3 new defenders zouma mina and digne now he plays proper defense

its not only about manager

Am I the only one who thinks a 3-5-2 would really suit us against the top 6 sides?

We have two attacking full backs who can sit back when required but also get forward. The 3 midfielders of Gomes, Gana and Sig, 3 monster Centre Halves in Keane, Mina and Zouma who will be big dangers from set pieces but also help us out defending from them, and Richarlison will get some help up top.

Pickford

Keane Mina Zouma

Coleman Gana Gomes Digne

Siggurdsson

Walcott Richarlison

I even think it could suit us as a default style going forward.

We need to get those signings in on 2nd/3rd of Jan,not deadline day.We need our business done early doors.Let the new signings bed in and get in to the vibe around the dressing room.So by the end of the window our campaign is 4 weeks down the line.

Okay, here goes, I am going to put my foot in it and expect many comments perhaps unpleasant.

In Silva I feel we have a manager in the mould of HK and given time and backing will be able to achieve some thing similar. Just hope we can keep him (and Brands) for many years to come to make us a real force again.
I think you might be right!!

Identity, organisation and real purpose, still not all the way there but certain going in the right direction. Alot to feel positive about!

Walcott and Coleman look like they need upgrading...otherwise, possibly

We did well today but we´ve seen those performances before. Hard to break down but carrying little threat. Can we take it to the next level and hurt these times? Hopefully we can but I think it´ll still be a while.

Hilarious that people in the match thread thought he didn't know what he was doing when he brought Jags on.

Today has shown that the team is very well coached and and that their game management is spot on. In a short time he has already instilled a pride in wearing the shirt for the players he has brought in and a good team spirit is developing as a result.

There's plenty to look forward in the future to as this side progresses.

Big statement but you may not be far off the mark.
HK did take a few years to get it right but in those few years we started to see spells of good football but just not consistently. Then came the 83-84 season and we were absolutely dire which took some of our fans over the edge calling for his head.
I have never seen a transformation of fortunes like HKs Everton and is was just like a click of fingers and that dire team became a brilliant team and the rest is history.

12 games in for Silva and compared to last season is like that click of the fingers but we all know we are still chasing and still need better players in certain positions but cannot fault him on 1 transfer window and integrating those signings into the team alongside making a number of regulars better.

The feel good factor feels brilliant and it has come back because we can see how far we have come in such a short period.
