City have had 10 years of trying to get it right - Silva has had one window. From what he says, he was satisfied with it as well. All the players we've signed have been quoted saying Silva spoke to them personally and it helped convince them. He wants to play with attacking full backs, he got Digne - and called him telling him how he wanted to play and where he would fit in. He wanted a box to box, ball playing midfielder and he got Gomes. He wanted to play with pace on the break, he got Bernard who said he was excited to work with him and Richarlison who describes him as a father to him. To me these are Silva's players.

What will be interesting is if the loan players keep impressing, whether or not the money is there to make them permanent.
As to your last point I think Usmanov will make sure it is

It’s still early days but I’m very impressed with the attitudes of all the new signings.

They’re hard working and very, very humble, as can be seen with Gomes’ and Mina’s videos with the DS children, the way Richarlison gave his boots away to that young lad from his car window etc. They seem to have completely bought in to the ethos of the club and it’s wider influence on the city, and it seems second nature to them to get involved. That kind of thing goes down incredibly well with Everton fans and this is the most positive I’ve felt since Martinez’s first season. The good football has helped too, mind.

I think Silva and Brands are assembling a team that will work hard for each other, you can see the togetherness in training and when celebrating goals, there’s no egos or primadonas in this squad.

In the 50s/60/70s 5/8 teams would win the league
That’s all changed now
Leicester was a one off
It’s not competitive now compared to the 60/70 when I started watching football

and every team regardless had 1 or 2 exceptional players worth watching. They unfortunately are pushed onto top 4 teams by media and agents alike nowadays. Football has lost the competitive edge. We used to laugh at the 2 horse race in Scotland.

Also never heard the media say that a player is too good for any team

Chelsea will be a good test for him, does he begin to bring tactics into play or does he continue with sending of players forward and hoping to score.

Chelsea are primed for the counter attack

Interesting that the rumoured primadonas (Jags and Baines) aren’t in the team that is playing so well and winning.
And all their fans have gone very quiet. Been saying for 18 months that jags was done and Baines for a year.

But was still getting told in the summer jags is still our best defender and Baines is good fir another season.

Hi mate.
I and other fans are still here. But we are winning games and the defence is looking good. Why would we lobby for their inclusion when they're replacements are doing so well?
Or is this just a ""I told you so"? Because I imagine a dip into the vaults will show you get as many right as you do wrong, just like every football fan.

I'm a fan of both but you were hardly alone were you? Jagielka's 36, do you think it's some sort of amazing insight to suggest that he's done for?! I stand by saying that he was our best defender last season, but that doesn't mean I couldn't see he was well past it. Just being better than the other shower he was competing with was hardly an achievement, but he still was, so I would say anybody who was telling you that in the summer was right. Thankfully we've now brought in new defenders, who are unsurprisingly better than him, and with a bit of luck will be better than he ever was. Same with Baines, he probably would have been alright for another year, but I was very pleased to see that we decided to be proactive and replace him anyway, like all well run clubs should.
