I'm OK, we needed two defenders first, we needed a left back, we needed a centre mid. We bought six first team players. I said we needed a new striker as well, but knew we needed to improve the defensive structure first.

...it's not contradictory. I'd prefer a top striker. If the club aren't willing to pay out then we need someone in for us. Spurs will be dumped out of another competition by Christmas with their CL failure. They can afford to let Llorente go.

Kenny did get rinsed in his last game I agree.

However if Silva is encouraging squad unity by applying a basic principle of ‘you stay in the team until you don’t perform’ then he has to be fair & back that up.

If he doesn’t, the current fringe players would lose trust in him.

Coleman hasn't 'stunk out' any games, that's the point.

He's not playing well, but he's still better than Kenny. If you think Martial had Coleman on toast today, imagine what he'd have done to Kenny.

Now we have to drag a player out of his best position to make up for the fact that the gormless gets who run the club couldn't see that we desperately needed an attacker.

This will take time Dave.
There really were more pressing needs that had to be addressed in the squad.
The amount of deadwood shifted was astounding. The players they have brought in are good quality , and they needed to be.
Who knows the attacker they wanted could not be brought in at the time for a plethora of reasons. If we have to wait for the right attacker to be available then that is better than bringing in any old Shane Long just for the sake of it.
He has gave the forwards a chance , and by his interview earlier he has seen enough.
I'm sure the next one in the door will be an attacker maybe as early as January.
But he has to be Top quality a young player on the verge of breakthrough.
I'm confident Silva & Brands will sort this.

We were never going to get our ideal squad in one window. We have a man signing pacey technical players and a manager playing a sustainable style which will work in the long term..

Getting the players will take a couple of years. We need people to accept that we will lose games but we are going in the right direction.
