Stop making excuses, Monchi’s Sevilla won the Europa League three times with virtually new teams. If you’ve got a good DOF this shouldn’t be a problem.

Not making excuses but do you think a couple of blokes can come in and in a few months create a team to win the Pl?

See Goats post about getting the right players!

Straw man argument, nowhere have I said he should be building a team to win the PL this season. I’ve simply said he should be getting 4 First Team players for 2 centre backs, left back and CM. We’ve got one of those so far, which is very poor considering we start the season in 7 days!

For me it doesnt matter when the season starts, anybody we sign, we are signing hopefully to last us 3 or 4 years, rare cases like Jags maybe they will last us 11 years.

Now clearly I would have rather we signed them 2 months ago, but at this point it matters only that we get them in.

The Wolves defeat is set in stone at this point, forget that game, our focus should be the other 37 games in the league.

It wasn't Monchi's Sevilla, it was Emery's Sevilla.

Far too much importance being placed on chief scouts or DoF's or whatever you wanna call them. The man who picks the players and decides strategy pre/during/post-game is the main man. That was Emery, and for us it's Silva.

I’ll be honest, i don’t really care where we finish this season (as long as its nowhere near the relegation scrap) id happily take 10th as long as silva shows some style or long term thinking into the team.. make no mistake this whole club is a mess. If you gave pep the job i reckon he’d struggle to get this bunch of cowards into the top 7.

He's only ever been with clubs with virtually unlimited funds and already tons of world-class players with an established dominating presence in their leagues.

Aside from Guardiola, I think any good manager can secure us top 10 without too much struggle, the bottom half of the Prem are pretty rubbish. The question is whether Silva is a good manager: he hasn't been with any one club long enough for us to find out.
