Anyone ever done one of these? I'm set to do one in April and was wondering if anyone has any decent advice for preparing for one. I've never done one before and just trying to get decent advice for it.

It will be for charity, if anyone can donate it will be for a good cause. I'll post the link soon.

Cheers.

Don't have any advice other than to listen to this song.

Find out how far you can run right now before feeling dizzy and wanting to vomit.. Once you figure that out, Set up a game plan. For instance 1st and 2nd weeks of training run 2 miles a day, and gradually raise the bar each week.. If your looking to finish a marathon and your not fit at the moment training could take up to a year to be ready.. Eat healthy and drink copious amounts of water.

A bit obvious like, but enter a few 10Ks and half marathons before you attempt a full marathon.

...and wear some sensible running shoes...Adidas Samba wont do.

Nice one. I used to do alot of running. Mainly 3 or 4 miles a day and I could do more but obviously this is going to be a huge test so I will have to raise the bar like you said. Cheers for the advice.

there's some good advice on here, especially the vaseline.....

I did a half one a few months ago for a children's hospice charity I'm involved with. I hope to do a full one next year for them. I was knackered after the half one, so i better get into shape.
