So the American Football sunday is going to be interrupted by the ManU Chelsea match when there is not a local team playing?

I know in the Denver Market the match is going to be played during the afternoon game slot. So tape delayed, but still on.

What you think about this fellow yanks?

I think it's a good step. Hopefully, Fox puts together a better pregame show than that dumbed-down cheesey one from the Champions League final. In other words, please no Michael Strahan.

Thinks it's great. More footy on broadcast TV, the better.

In theory, but any prospective supporters new to the game are only going to be introduced to clubs like Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and the RS. Sure doesn't do Everton any favours.

It's sad but true that most Americans are fanboys for the 'top' clubs (the ones with money). They boast about how good their respective clubs are, but are just starting to realise that Christiano Ronaldo no longer plays for MU and Torres is with Chelsea now.

Maybe I'm just being cynical...

Well we had the slot for the start of the season against Spurs at the beginning of the season. I was very happy that I wouldn't have to watch the game via a stream or tape delay. Then the riots ruined that for me. This game is being televised as it was always going to be looked at as a game of two potential title contenders. The only problem is that Chelsea look more poised for a 3rd place finish than anything else.

At this point, I don't care. Getting Americans to watch ANY soccer is a plus in my book. Plus a lot of them once they watch do take the time to learn more about the league in general, so may end up choosing someone else. We also have the benefit of having Tim Howard. If anyone has a passing interest in the US team they at least have heard of Everton before.

It's a huge step for Fox. I might tune in just to show support.
