Everton new loan signing Manuel Fernandes IS eligible to play for the Club in this season's Uefa Cup.
The player himself believed he would be cup-tied for the competition because of his involvement in the Champions League for Valencia earlier this term.
However, Everton will take advantage of Uefa Cup ruling 17.17 which allows a Club to add to its list of registered players for the competition before February 1.
Everton had named just 24 of the possible 25 players in their list of registered players for the competition and will make Fernandes the 25th player on the list.
Fernandes' name can be added to the list under the 'exceptional player rule 17.18' because he has not competed in the same competition for Valencia this season and the Spanish side is not involved in the Uefa Cup at the last 32 stage after being knocked out of the Champions League.
It is a major boost for the Toffees. Everton return to action in the Uefa Cup next month when they face SK Brann.
