It is every f*****g week this, or it seems to be. And the more the media hype it up the more it seems other crack pots want to get in on the act.

Despicable. Hope no one has died.

I'm getting re-routed to different stations most weeks in order to shift our Police presence in certain areas (*cough* Bootle), it's happening an awful lot.

Its does seem to be fairly frequent at the moment. I will say this though, the media may well just be picking up on it more, so it seems a lot more regular. Media outlets tend to have a narrative arc, so a few years ago, understandably there seemed to be an awful lot of terrorist stories and plots uncovered and the like. Islamic fundamentalism seems to be have been put on the back burner a bit doesn't it? There is a Canadian guy on Charlie Brookers newswipe who explains it far better than I could, who's name escapes me. It sounds conspiracy theoryish I know, but entirely plausible.

Thought the Bootle stuff was gang related like?

Hardly comparable to the nutjobs going on shooting sprees every couple of weeks over in the US.
 

Police saying the shooting isn't related to "terrorism." What? How could they possibly know that? Because the shooter isn't of middle-eastern descent? Because terrorism only exists in the middle east, you know.
 
Firearms are so easily to get hold of over there, its why they get so many psychos flipping out spraying the place with bullets. Imagine we had shops in our countries that you could walk in and purchase a A5 assault rifle and heavy tools like that? We'd see the same carnage. And no, its not media hypes, played down if anything. The ghettos see massive gun related crime everyday. Victims gunned down by gang bangers, cops shooting gang bangers. The mainstream media turns a blind eye in America. Like if I said the murder of Kelly Thomas, how many of you would know that case? He was an innocent vagrant who was beaten to death for no reason by two loose cannon cops in Florida - it happens everyday - but their mainstream media tries to cover it up.
 
Geez, by the sounds of it, I'm lucky to get to work every morning. Just a matter of time I guess.
