Manchester United - A mutual respect?

It's when they congregate as a group. Individually, fine. But they have the added thing of hating Scousers.

Must admit I hate that from some of our lot its boring as some of my best mates are Scousers ( I have worked on Merseyside and know the Score)

What I would say is that 99% of the anti scouse **** is aimed at your vile neighbours. I know quite a few scouse Evertonians and one of the things they hate about the vermin is that a section of them give proper Scousers a bad name

Anyway I love my scouse brothers and sisters top people ( Even some of the red ones that I know)

thats a politicians answer. youre still saying that man u fans are as bad as kopites, you just threw in ` they hate scousers is the difference` .......................sort it tube-mon

One reason I don't mind United is that despite winning loads they don't really act like tits.

You know if City win it'll be Titfest 2012.

I have a lot of respect for Everton I have quite a lot of Evertonian mates some through work and even some family

However it used be pretty full on between Everton and United Particularly in the 80s it used to get pretty nasty and I have heard plenty of Munich songs etc. The difference between Evertonians and your verminous neighbours is that the Everton lads I know will admit that they have sung munich songs in the past but have moved on unlike liverpool fans who deny everything and anything. A defining change for me was when we had a mins silence for Sir Matt and Everton fans were impeccable

My respect for Everton is based on life experience I work in and around Liverpool quite a lot and all the Toffees I meet are absolutely spot on. You have top notch no bull**** proper supporters

I think the other thing is that everyone hates United ( Not that I give a ****) and its quite a change to have a bit of affinity with one other club even if a lot of it is us both hating the evil empire

This.

The hatred between United and Everton was fierce during the 80's, it was more intense than Utd v Sh!te it just never reported like that. Sh!te fans are jealous of united success and can't handle the fact they are not top dogs anymore.

Regardless of any hatred between 2 clubsI can safely say about 99% of Evertonians will respect another clubs grief (i.e. Matt Busby), obviously you'll get a few knobs, but thats one thing i'm proud about us Blues, we do have respect.

This whole kopite crap about us loving United p!sses me off, the same way they call us Bitters (yet there the one who have the thread on RAWK about united). I hate United, the same way I hate every other team (including England, and I know i've brough this up before and it cause a bit of a dilema); basically I love Everton

Fair play mate and pretty spot on

Most United I know seem to like us, I'm thinking its down to Rooney, and our shared hatred of them, and City.

I admire and respect them, not just for "using" them vicariously to beat Liverpool, but for what they've achieved. Remember, when Fergie took over, they were one title behind us and then we won it again in 87 to put us 2 ahead of them. So profound respect.

Does that apply here? Discuss.

Some Leeds fans have this attitude towards Man City and Liverpool because of our mutual hatred of Man Utd - especially City now they're competing with Man Utd for the league and the 6-1, there's certainly been a lot more fawning over City from this side of the pennines compared to 5 years ago.

Personally I can't stand either club!
