Nev, what do you think the general match going United fan's attitude is towards Everton is these days? My attitude towards United has changed to feel a lot warmer about them over the years and they are certainly the club I hope wins the title every year since we have little or no chance.
Do you think there has been a mellowing of attitude? A lot of United fans I meet seem to have a bit of affection for Everton, although sadly this is probably as we are no longer considered rivals.

Definately changed in my opinion I am a STH on the Stretford end and most the Lads I know dont mind the Toffees at all. I dont think its that we dont consider you rivals to be honest as you are and always will be. If anything I would love to see a stronger Everton competing for the title to [Poor language removed] your orrible neighbours and CITEH if we cant win the league I would love to see Everton do it.

The mins silence when Sir Matt died changed a lot of things for me Everton were impeccable and I will never forget that

I also think there is a lot of common ground with a common loathing of your wonderful hypocritical neighbours plus the good relationship between Fergie and Moyes plus Phil Neville playing for you as well

There will always be the Scouse / Manc banter thing though and I think thats healthy

All these small time CHAV little inglunder type clubs hate United as its trendy but most Evertonians just seem to be more interested in there own club than any petty ABU agenda

Anyway I have more than a few scouse Everton mates by the way

Yeah that pretty much echoes my experiences in the main and not just of my Mancunian chums. I know a lot of fans also appreciated the George Best appreciation at Goodison after he passed but I never had any doubt his memory would be loudly acclaimed. On a personal level my dad had "the george best story" on video and as a kid I would watch it with him over and over - that song "..they call him the belfast boy..." is still one of my favourite ever songs lol.
