Manager of the year?

Player Valuation: £40m
Who has impressed you so far?

For me, it's been a toss up between Martin Oneil, Alex Mcleish, Tony Pullis, Roy Hodgson, and Fat Arry. Dare I say it, but even Benitez has battled the demons and looks to be coming out of the other side now to his credit.

Who would get your vote?

i think alex ferguson if they win the league. selling 2 of your best players like ronaldo and tevez and still doing so well is unreal.

Disagree there, bb, we are still operating on a shoe-string. If we hadn't had extensive injuries (sic) we would probably be right up there now.

Despite that, I would like to think someone like Hodgson or McLeish get it. They have both done really this year (despite my hatred for all things Brum). O'Neil really hasn't done that well. None of the other managers have really shone this year bar those two. Ferguson still has a very expensive team, Ancelloti , ditto. Rafael is Rafael and will never win the award (thank god).

For me it's either McLeish or Hodgson. Both managers building well on their club's form/position from last season.

Shoe string or not Dylan, we can't really expect Moyes to win any awards this year, when teams like Spurs, Villa, Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke etc are all having good seasons.

We started out dreadfully.
We have been knocked out of every cup.
We are currently in mid table mediocrity.

Sure we've had injuries, but so have other teams too, regardless of who has had the most. That's all part and parcel of being a Prem manager.

If we look upon the top 4 as not winning it because they are historically the best sides anyway, and that top 4 space is the minimum a manager is expected to achieve, then surely if we are to hold the tag of 5th best team, then that 'minimum requirement' should apply to us to.

I really can't justify anything Moyes has achieved this season, as better than Oniel, who has already been to Wembley, and has a chance of doing so again, plus qualifying for Europe, as does Redknap.

Injuries + performimg miracles = Manager of the year awards
Injuries + Failure = Sorry, but no cigar.

Surely that's just tough titties this time round.

Hodgson's doing it without the massive funding that McLeish and the others have got.. So he would get my vote. Plus Fulham play decent football and have beaten Roma and Shaktar - United 3-0.. and The RS etc etc.

If thats the case then Rafas had a worse season in comparison.

Shouldn't this be left to the end of the season? There are no outstanding candidates so far apart from perhaps McLeish, even he has time to have a crappy ending to it all.

Couple of things. It is one thing to have injuries. It is another for us to play without as many as we did early on in the season. I don't think Moyes deserves it this year, not by a long shot. Like I said earlier, McLeish or Hogdson should win it based on what they have done with their squads this year.

"Spurs, Villa, Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke " Spurs - never in a million years should their postition be given credit for good management. They have spent SO much money assembling that squad, supplemented by a bunch of 'brown-paper bag' deals by 'Appy 'Arry getting Kranjcar and the like. They should easily be in the fight for 2-4th spot. But they aren't, which I think is more a true refelction on how Redknapp has done this year.

Villa.......sorry, O'Neill isn't doing anything special. He is performing exactly about where I expected Villa to be. Not buying Stoke either, they just aren't doing 'it' for me. So it comes back around to Birmingham or Fulham's manager for me.

I think I would just edge it to Hodgson, for their good league form coupled with a couple of nice little wins in the Europa.

I like Hodgson.

Very good manager and he knows a lot about world football.

Of course he was sacked from Blackburn, but in his first season they looked a very decent side.

The same goes for Fulham. He rescued them from relegation and now he's building a good side. Given time he can make Fulham a regular contender for european places.

He knows what to do with the players and he knows where he can get that special and not expensive player.
