Although I'm so disappointed in the result we did give them a tough game and were undone by a moment of madness. We can take positives from the game- we were without 2 of our best players of this season but still managed to play well away from home against the current champions.
A while ago we would have been glad that we only lost by 1 goal and for us to be this disappointed is a sign of how far we've come.

Very disappointed in the result after what was a great defensive display, though our attacking was basically non-existant today. Still, Moyes' reaction has been positive and that is good to see, as a narrow defeat to the current Champions away from home is clearly not the end of the world, record or no record.

We'll just do Bolton in midweek and then it will be back to winning ways again, I still really fancy our chances of upsetting Arsenal again too.

Happy Christmas everyone. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah... special mention for Jags today, thought he had a belter. Well done lad.

disappointed at how we lost it.

I was pretty upset when the PK was awarded and disappointed at some of the run resulting in nothing!

It's still too early to be upset, before the start of this match I would have been delighted to get 6 out of 9 points, so as long as we beat Bolton and Arsenal I am still happy with things!

It was a penalty. It wasn't just a trailing leg, he stuck it out as Giggs traveled by.

Although football players go over so easy these days, it was still a foul inside the box. Pienaar knew it, Moyes knew it and Webb knew it.

It gets the extra kick-in-the-teeth factor as well because of the timing. the game was just about over and we had weathered attack after attack after attack memorably. Jags and Yobo bastions in the center. Lescott had some great tackles (a couple recovering from mistakes of his own, not to mention the defensive header right back out to Ronaldo 12 yards out). Hibbert did well for the most part, the odd error but nothing costly.

Rooney = Bitch after crying about that drop ball with Carsley. He really is a shell of the player he was supposed to be.,

Unlucky today a right kick in the teeth really but it was a pen.
I thought the whole defence played well especially yobo and jags and i also hope neville is not in midfield for the bolton game he is awful in there.

Listened to the game on Radio 5, the opinion of the commentator's was that we deserved a share of the spoils.
A great defensive display by all accounts.
Pienaar's been outstanding for us, today's lapse should have no bearing on our view of him.

We are still 6th, R32 of the UEFA Cup and in the semi of the League Cup, all in all nobody can deny we have had a great first half to the season.

Other results went our way as well this weekend, City and Villa, draw game, Pompey lost as did Bl'burn, N'Castle could only draw against Derby so not much damage done.

Beat Bolton and start looking upwards again. COYB

terribly disappointing result but let's put this Pienaar mistake into perspective, He's been in excellent form of late and he has provided some of the assists to several crucial goals.
He will be distraught at his mistake and let's face it, lots of players make mistakes. Pienaar won't need any stupid comments from the terraces to make him feel like [Poor language removed] because of what he's done.
The run has come to an end and we now have to concentrate on beating Bolton on wednesday.
I'm more worried about the injury to Tim Cahill and what's wrong with Mikel. Any news on Timmy's problem?

It's time to get behind the lads again. We need to win on wednesday and on saturday! Come on you Blues, move on and put this behind us.

You mean the linesman knew it or presume Giggs make contact with Pienaar, Webb has absolutely no idea what's going on, until linesman give signal!

Well, what happen already happen I am sure it would have been a better game if we had Arteta playing, we lack pace on one side of the Wing makes it easier to defend against!

I do feel we rather sit a little too deep during the match makes it easier for them to come onto us, 2nd half the referee become more bias as we hardly got any freekick when our player get foul, and honestly I was annoy the number of occassion when Man U's player dive to get freekick, if I was in charge of this match, they would have couple of player sent off already!

Let's make a recover when we meet Bolton at home!

I feel bad for Pinnear. He played great today.

I also though Hibbert played well.

Thought we didn't have a chance with Arteta not starting. We usually look awful in Prem games without him. However we played well. I can't complain about the effort.

We are going to miss Yobo.

Wish Arteta was playing we could have given them a better game, than we did today and Neville in the MF never again play keep him at RB!

We certainly going to missed Yobo but if Valente and Baines stays fit during that period we should do fine at the back!

Let's hope the right player comes available next month, if Vogel deal is actually on, it would be a plus!

Didn't know we signed John O'Shea either...

After he came in, 1 in every 2 passes he made was to a blue shirt.

Well done Agent O'Shea...

Interesting, i feel the same as well I though Simpson did pretty well although it was his side open up for Pienaar to cross for our Cahill header!

Pienaar made a silly mistake no doubt about it- he lost his concentration for one second and he and us were punished for it. But the look on his face after said it all, he was absolutely gutted he said more to me at the way he reacted after that than anything he has said in the press or on screen. This boy cares make no mistake- he wants to play for us and I want him here permanently.

The cross for Cahills goal was world class, he dropped the shoulder found some space and then found Cahills head- great goal.

Unlucky lads we will bounce back.
