Man Utd transition

Hibbert&Ernie

Player Valuation: £10m
Transition, not Turmoil.
Scholes has retired, VDS has retired. Hargreaves has been released. And it seems Sunderland had a £12mill bid accepted for O'Shea, Brown and Gibson. Looks like SAF is having a spruce up and making way for signings like Young and possibly Sneijder.
For me they need good cover for Evra, and a player as good or better than Fletcher, because there were times in the past few seasons where Utd were unable to close games down when they had gone in front. Once they were the masters of shutting the game down, but that mean streak and capacity to choke the opposition midfield has been missing.

The centre midfeild needs looking at tbh they badly need a couple of centre midfeilders, but with Canny signings like Young and Jones. With the emergence of the, Brazilan twins, Smalling and Hernandes they look strong for beards to come. Valencia and Nani are also living up to their hype and increasingly becoming effective. I can see Cleverley and Welbeck maybe kicking on as well. I even thought i saw Anderson have a decnet game or two last season. Should be intresting to see what De Gea is like though.

Not convinced on the Brazil twins, one keeps getting red cards, and the other doesn't play. And although they have attack sorted, what they do when not in possession is as important. They need a Fletcher clone or better than that, another Roy Keane.

G.Neville retiring too

Man Utd can afford to buy young talent and bring them through when they want/need to. Something I'd say Liverpool can't, but appear to be doing the same. Interesting to see if they keep Park, Valencia, Young and Nani. One or two of those will probably be out do you think?

What do you reckon Nik? x

They all seem to be taking this financial fair play thing very seriously hoovering up anything that young and could be a talent for ten years.

He slike the highlander there can only be one.

I think the twins are feeling there way a bit i thought they improved the more game time they got, i like them for some reason there is a bit of bite, flair and passion about them. But then anything is an improvement of Gary Neville.

Good work sir.

Scholes, Hargreaves, Neville and VDS have gone, mainstay's of United teams in recent years. The likes of Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Park and Giggs are the wrong side of 30. Squad members like Brown and O'Shea have gone and Owen and Berbatov are getting on. Ferguson will have to replace 2/3'ds of his squad before he retires if he doesn't want to leave a legacy of over-the-hill stars.

Jones, Young and De Gea are good signings. And they'll still challenge next season, but they definitely still need some work if they are to challenge beyond that. United are somewhat of a puzzle really because on paper they aren't that strong but Ferguson has them so well drilled and disciplined they always pull it off.

The midfield does need looking at. Even if they buy Nasri, who will they play alongside him? None of Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson or Giggs would seem to be an especially good fit and Jones needs more experience. They could possibly do with another striker too, but otherwise they look strong.

I beleive Utd have a lad called Ryan Tunnicliffe a centre midfeilder who they expect to be a top top player.

United need a midfield closer/killer. I hope they don't try it on with Fellaini. Cos in my book he fits the bill.

The young lad i mentioned above has been likened to Roy Keane sacrilege that it is, tbh i was also impressed with Tom Cleverly at Wigan last season - goo dplayer to have in reserve for pesly Carling Cup games and could progress.

Bit soon for him though, isn't it? I'm not sure that Nasri is the best fit for United in any case. I think he'd do better for Chelsea or City, where he could play on the left of a midfield three. I thought United might be interested in Adam to be honest.
