Jelavic had to take a touch then, he can't score when he does that. It's true, ask [insert poster whose name I forgot here].

toffeejack :) missed the game today ... i know, gutted right, did jelly score two first timers today?heard the first was a header so i doubt that took control

Its results like this that makes that Semi Final or any game against the RS worse.

At 3-1 and 4-2 I was waiting for us to give up the ghost. Jelavic was seeing none of the ball, Pienaar had gone quiet and Fellaini in the hole looked like a bad tactical blunder. It seemed like they were heading for a bollocking from Moyes.

I don't know what changed. Maybe United thought that the game was won and stepped off the gas? They cut us to ribbons with their goals but then went back into their shell again. I expected us to get beat today and the RS to overtake us with a win against the Baggies. If you look at the remaining fixtures now I would fancy our chances of hanging on to 7th.

The header took incredible control, it was a perfectly cushioned lob header over De Gea into the far corner of the net, not just a glancing header.

How is everyone not seeing that fight and spirit today (and the most recent failure of Liverpool's) as the biggest insult that could be delivered?

FFS, that team and manager should be getting massive stick for not turning up last week not plaudits for getting a point at OT today.

How low are we prepared to sink? It's sickening seeing us like this.

"Can we hang onto 7th?".

*shakes head*

I aint watched it all the way through yet so cant comment. Seen the goals (Felli's was a beaut).

The bottom line has always been getting the best out of the obvious quality we do have, and coming through. So its always frustrating when we pull results against the top teams, where Moyes looks like he gets it spot on, which in turn throws the "financial" argument out of the window IMO. But against the lower teams and the RS, he looks lost or struggles tactically.

The result is a one off to to be fair. Have we ever scored 4 at OT? And conceding 4 is poor...BUT it seems the fight that was missing, then came back, then disappeared against the RS, came back because we had nothing to lose

Its bewildering to me. And this is without Baines and Cahill playing. Yet the semi final made us look like a league 1 side.

Its why doubt with the manager comes into it.

totally agree - it's like every season, we only start playing after xmas once we have no chance of winning anything...****ing splitters the lot of em. Led by a spineless ginger freak - who got called out by a floppy haired Italian, and backed down.

Grow a pair Moyes, and maybe...just maybe your team will respond in kind

Starts and ends with the boss man. The thing is, the feller learns ABSOLUTELY FCUK ALL from the past. His team is let off the lead at Christmas and they get results - climaxing with the Sunderland away tie. Big game comes along and he puts them bavk on the leash. Hs major decision making when the heat is on is woeful. That team would never have gotten back into a match like that today if something hung on the outcome. It's a pyrrhic *victory*.

As much as I loved the game today, this is correct.

Dave K.

No one's forgetting who you wanted to win today. And it wasn't Everton.
