Oh dear, Man U didn't do there job for us and Man City is right on our back again!

We need to take them down in our next game, don't know why Portsmouth sold Benjani to City and Petrov was sharp as ever today with Richard doing well as well can you believe it?

What do you guys think? hope Pienaar recover in time for this match.

City were very good, but the Mancs played like crap, they were downright terrible. We are very capable of avoiding a loss at City or even winning.

A [Poor language removed] day of result but still pretty much doing us a favour here, beating City in our next league match is vital but we must focus on UEFA Cup now and getting a result away is going to be the key.

Felt sorry for Babel who isn't getting the chance but he did have done a job for us, we should have put a cheeky bid for him in January saying you don't play the lad any way so we did used him more and nick the player.

I'm happy with the citeh win, I don't think they'll be much of a problem to us for 4th and am glad those red manc tw*ts have dropped points.

I don't think City will stay the course. Our two rivals for 4th are Villa and Liverpool.

Villa have a chance because they're not in any cups so can focus purely on the league. They're also in decent form right now. Working against them however, they have a reasonably small squad so could suffer from injuries as the season comes to an end. They also don't have many players that have competed at the business end of a season so could suffer from a lack of experience.

Liverpool have plenty of players so shouldn't be tired, especially as Beneathus' rotation early in the season was designed to keep players fresh for now. However they're in awful form and are still competing in two cup competitions. The CL in particular could distract them and at this stage of the season it's always better to have the points won rather than games in hand. With the financial implications of them not qualifying for next years CL the pressure will be really on both the players and manager. Can they handle it?

And then of course there is us. We're not playing well right now but are still grinding out results through great defence. In our advantage is the fact that we have no long-term injuries, and the likes of Pienaar, Yakubu, Graveson, Baines and Gardner will all be returning to the side in the next few weeks so we shouldn't suffer from a lack of players having pretty much 20 senior outfield players to choose from. I also think we've had some shitty decisions over the season thus far. If things do even themselves out as is suggested then we're due some luck in the coming months. We might even win a penalty before the season's out. The UEFA Cup could prove a distraction but we've coped with it pretty well so far.

Should be interesting.

Yea I can't see City keeping the pace, they don't seem to score enough goals and should get lots of draws. But congrats to them for getting the double over Man Utd.

managed to keep the pace and get this far, done it without elano for a while too, and benjani has been recruited.

before the arsenal game at goodison, i wanted them to win the league, but now i certainly dont, chelsea dropped more points, and manure lose at home for the first time since???

as seasons go, this one is still quite close.

You got a point. But you know what, I wouldn't mind it too much if City or Villa beat us out for 4th at least it will be someone different. That other team in the mix though (n)
