I think sometimes people want goal scorers in every position.
Players like Johnson who is good going forward, but not so good in defense.
If we had a decent right mid, Hibbert would have far less to do every game.
He is a much better defender than he is a winger and is very fast too. Baines is better at going forward, but he isn't better at defending.
It's all opinion, but when a lad is playing well, and I think Hibbert played especially well today, it just seems unfair to **** the guy off, especially as those around him are playing much worse in their own positions at the moment.

Edit : Sla.g not allowed ?

Why are you ignoring the fact that pretty much everyone is pointing out that Hibbert was not repsonsible for the goal today.

There were 2 men at the far post for Wigan. One was being marked by Hibbo and the other was behind them. That was Scharner who made the run in but Osman who was supposed to be tracking him stopped.
Look. Even if it wasnt his fault today, why do people ignore the fact that Hibbert is utterly garbage. Yes he is always out of position. Yes he constantly gives the ball away cheaply or puts it out when not under pressure. Yes i did see them last season, utilising my season ticket funny enough. I have seen them for the last 35 years and I know when i see a bad player. We have moved on in the last few years and Hibbert now sticks out like a sore thumb. Face facts and take off your blue tinted ones. Without him we will be better. Winger or no winger. Fact

He was also dragged inside....yet again.... to leave the player who scored all alone. If this lad wasn't home grown we would be giving Moyes so much abuse for playing him. Liability. Sorry if this is not in line with other peoples thoughts but I just want my everton to be striving higher than Tony Hibbert. He is useless!

Mate, you better go back and have a look at the replay.

Rodwell by lengths.

Wanted the ball, moved it confidently and when he had space, he bolted towards goal. Plus, he's not afraid to crack from 25 yards - something the rest of our MF had forgotten.

Was glad to see Pip hava rip when it presented itself(y)

We won. Hibbert had a good game, Osman was [Poor language removed], leave Tony Hibbert alone ffs!!

to be fair hibbert had to come inside to pick up wigans forward who was unmarked it was osman who lost his man.

MOM for me was pienaar although i could have chose him or rodwell.

when rodwell picked the ball up in the middle of the park and surged foward hitting his shot just past the post, his stride and composure just reminded me of gerrard and gerrard was 22 before he was taking it to the opposition like that.

This lad will be very special(y)

I put Yobo, just so amazed at how well he played. Never seen it before.
Maybe should have put Distin - he's the new boy, but played like he was teaching Yobo the ropes.
Still don't rate Osman, reminds me of a kid swinging his fists, put your hand against his head and he can't reach but keeps on swinging his fists.
Hibbert was fine - no freedom of the city parade day, but fine.

Loved Pienaar, he was chopped at so much. Wigan were lucky to finish the game with 11 men.

Rodwell for me on his first half performance. 2nd half didnt quite live up to the 1st for me, a number of time during the 2nd half he gave the ball away cheaply and seemed to lose a little confidence but kept plugging away. He has a good touch and makes time for himself to play, when he gets over the feeling of being the kid in the team he will shine.

[sarcasm]Yeah this site is just full of people praising Hibbert and saying how great it is. In fact thats all its been on here for years now, talking about how good Hibbert is.

No one has ever moaned about how crap he is and that we would be better off without him.[/end of sarcasm]

Sounds like you wanna take your tinted glasses off as you insist on blaming him for something that wasn't his fault.

You better put your glasses on mate. My first line said"even if it wasn't his fault" then Iwent on to write about how poor he is in general over years not one game! Try to keep up with the threads(y)
