Man City's Dunne closer to Everton, Newcastle move

Richard Dunne is close to the exit door at Manchester City.

The News of the World says Dunne, with just one year of his current deal left, has been given the cold shoulder by City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra even though the player's agents have tried to get round the table to secure the defender's future.
And that looks certain to send Dunne, 28, into the arms of Newcastle's Kevin Keegan. Everton boss Dave Moyes will also be interested, having already welcomed old boys Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka back to Goodison Park in the last 12 months.

Would love to see him back at goodison, he's a great player. Plus we could get rid of Yobo who i think is our weak link. I was'nt botherd when he left especily when we got 4m for him. What a great player he's turned out to be.

Before you start getting to excited about this. I must say that the story is from the anti-christ that is trible football. Which means it's all crap!!!

We really need a thread prefix "Warning from Tribal Football" so we can avoid reading it.

If Dunne came back I agree I'd slot him in for Yobo without question and offload him to Arsenal or whomever wanted to pay 5m.

The nuts about Yobo, he is class fact!

He has been consistent all year and i cant remeber any of his old trademrk lapse moments! In recent games hes been our best defender, f we had signed him last summer we would all be raving about him!

Why as Yobo been gettin some flack of late? The lad is sheer class! Ok not the loudest gob on him, prone to the odd [Poor language removed]'up every season, But the lad is class. Gets in my all time Evereton XI since the early 90's. End of......!

There is only 1 defender who should go and thats Jag, once again he lost concentration yesterday and cost the point. He simply isnt good enough. Yobo has been outstanding all season

Thing is IMO jags will only get better, were as yobo is at his peak an is no better than jags.

How is someone with little skill and a big heart going to get better? Like Rhino before him, he puts the effort in but we haved on from yard dog defenders like this. Yobo is a class or 2 above Jag in every way

Anyone who thinks that Richard Dunne would be an improvement over Joseph Yobo needs to have a word with themselves.

If we're talking someone like Gallas, Ferdinand, or someone in that mold, then yeah.

But Dunne?

Uh no.

(Edit: Heck, I'd take Davie Weir or Alan Stubbs back before Dunne.)

How much skill has john terry got or even carragher both got big hearts both world class defenders. Not trying to say jags is in the same league.But what you'v wrote is crap!!

How many goals has yobo saved us this season. I bet jags has doubled if not trippled it!!

I wont even respond to the 1st bit its just laughable.

Jags 'saves' are normally a result of him messing up in the 1st place and having to make a last ditch tackle to save himself. How anyone can begin to put him in the same league is beyond incredible, Jag isnt fit to lace Yobo's boots
