"Even Man City and UEFA agree to a sanction that includes a heavy fine or curbs on their ability to field new players, that may not be the end of the matter. Indeed, built into Uefa's FFP regulations is the power for any innocent club directly affected by a sanction to challenge it if they deem it too lenient. If any of the clubs are unhappy with a sanction, or a decision to clear City, they have 10 days from the publication of the CFCB's decision to lodge a complaint."

... well, the news now all over the place and are suggesting Man City failed with FFP rules and will get almost no meaningful punishment. Do you think we should challenge their decision and try to get our club into the Champions League with a legal war?

Nope, there are 4 teams that have done better than us this season, and as such they deserve Champions League.

Personally I reckon Europa League will be good for us, it's the first step back into hopefully challenging for Europe regularly and a competition we have a very good chance of winning. Never know, winning it may be how we qualify for CL.

Nah, and if I thought it might change a thing I would have said yes. It's done and dusted, they'll come to a settlement where they get a whopper fine and there is nothing more anyone can do.

Unless FIFA benefit financially from us being in the CL, it's not going to happen. Therefore it's not going to happen

No point. We would be the villains of England if we got into the CL at City's expense, and do you really think they would ban City from Europe because Everton complained? Platini probably would laugh in our faces the bad bell.

Uefa would probably make us have a two legged play off against City for a place in the champions League and they would get Pierre Luigi Collina out of retirement....

How could the red [Poor language removed] complain when they have a dodgy sponsorhip deal in place too?

It'd be a case of pot, kettle, black

Any idiot could spend an infinite amount of money and get into the Champions League, the problem is doing it sustainably without Sugar Daddy.

if it was a points deduction then they'd still probably be in the CL
if it was an outright ban (not going to happen due to standard UEFA/FIFA corruption) then we'd deserve it for finishing where we have and complying with the rules.

In an ideal situation any fine imposed should be paid to the next highest placed keague club that missed out ;p

Getting into any tournament through legal means tho smacks of kopite behaviour and would hate us going down that route

49m quid would be a nice compo like lol

Yes and no.

While we certainly have the required standing to launch a complaint, we are the only club to have this standing. We don't have an idea of how much (court and legal costs) this will cost at the CAS, and ultimately we probably have to pay costs if CAS turn down the appeal.

However, with Man City certainly launching an appeal, and that means UEFA has to be on our side, we might as well piggyback our case to be discussed on the same CAS session.
