Got to be done. We can't let that simpering little wretch get another undeserved #1 for Satan Cowell.

Hopefully Radio 1 will play the uncensored version like Bruno Brookes did in 1993.

Fingers crossed!

You've gotta buy it off a site that qualifies for chart positions like itunes or hmv. But in the words of rage, **** you i won't do you tell me. Saw them at leeds 08, they've still got it

Do people still care who the Christmas #1 is?

Apparently so.

Its as if comedy singles, Stock Aitken and Waterman, manufactured bands and Simon Cowell didn't exist till last month and all ganged up to ruin the previously cared about charts.

Its like Christmas number ones had never been [Poor language removed] before.

Bought my copy on Tuesday. If you want to hear the full version take a look at you tube. It was payed live on Thursday morning.

Its getting a bit irratable though isn't it? - That is, the X Factor winner being Christmas number one.

The 70's and 80's were full of now classic Christmas songs. The likes of Slades - Merry Xmas Everybody, Mud - Lonely This Christmas, Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone.

The 90's less so, but at least artists like Whitney Houston, Queen, Michael Jackson were amongst them.

This X Factor crap just irritates me, the likes of Shayne Ward, Leon Jackson and now whatever his face is having a number one is bad enough, but even worse when its Christmas number one.

Shame there isn't a decent song 'in protest'.

The problem i have with the x-factor winners is that none of them ever sit down and write their own songs. All they have to do is win a big karaoke contest and then they get a number 1 song.

Rolf Harris, Benny Hill, Renee and Renato, Cliff Richard, Mr Blobby, Bob the Builder and Nicole Kidman say hi.

Where was the protest towards them? Where was the protest when The Beatles and Spice Girls were having 3 christmas number ones in a row?

Were is the protest when some bland r'nb or dance track dominates the charts?

I listen to the music i like and i let other people buy and listen to whatever they want.

If that happens to of been produced by Simon Cowell so what? Has no effect on my life or enjoyment of music whatsoever.

Just think this whole "proest" is pathetic and isn't gonna change a damn thing.

Although i agree that they could of picked a better song to use as a protest song, i cant stand Killing in the name and havent been able to since i heard it for the millionth time in about 1997. So overplayed.

I'd honestly rather listen to Joe Mceldery than that song.

Thing is though death, a lot of them - like Rolf Harris - were surprise number ones.

The occasional child hit I can relate to, Christmas for me is about the children anyway.

My main annoyance is the X Factors predictability.

It affects my life though. I have to share a society with the kind of numpty that buys 'records' with no musical value whatsoever.

Then they try and talk to me and offer me nuts when I'm in the pub minding my own business; "No I didn't see X Factor, now [Poor language removed] off".

Both these records are owned by Sony, so it's just a bit of fun really. As always, the record companies are the winners here. Though I would like to imagine Joe 'The wretch' Mcelpheroid over Christmas, staring into his bowl of Rice Crispies as Rage Against The Machine plays over the radio. Sobbing gently as he shovels soggy cereal into his tight little mouth.

Then he'll remember the cheque for £1,000,000 he got from Satan Cowell and think 'Ah, f*** it.'

wont someone please think of the children!

Can't say I'm a fan of Rage against the machine so won't be buying the single, but the whole thing doesn't really bother me either. I like Jeff Buckley for instance but didn't buy his version of Hallelujah last year because I already know what a wonderful song it is and infinately superior to the X Factor version. If other people don't see that I guess that's down to them. It doesn't make the song any less enjoyable for me.

The charts all seem a bit pointless these days and I couldn't tell you what position any of the songs I listen to achieved in them. So Christmas #1 is not really any more important than any other week of the year.
