The problem with the list - and it's pretty on the money - is when you add in Lennon and Atsu, that is 9 players leaving and virtually no money for any of them.

Now we won't need as big a squad next year, but we would still have to bring in at least 5 quality replacements, when we will likely only have the budget for one big signing.

This is why I'd sell Baines we need funds to improve our squad overall and sometimes tough decisions have to be made. Howard we might get 5 million off the MLS and Mirallas maybe 10 million as he only has a year left so teams won't be held to ransom.

that's a lot of wages released + we should have decent TV money as well.

Got 2 years

I don't think anyone is saying we have the most talented squad ever seen. We do have a squad that is much better than our league position. We do need to play those players in the right position and in the right system. We need to buy 3 or 4 good players who will make the squad better. We seem to have a number of older players, presumably on good wages, who don't look like they are going to figure in in team. They are the dead wood.
The big summer decision is to work out a style of play that best suits the players we keep and bring in a number of new ones who will enhance the ones we have.

From the post match ideas thread:
"Martinez is destroying the best squad we have ever had losing players and fans along the way.
He should have been booted after the hull game"

Well if he doesn't see it he'll soon be out of a job early next season. If he doesn't get rid of those players I'd have zero sympathy from me.
Unfortunately for similar things I've been thinking the same myself all year. I think you'll also be disappointed. I think you've projected what you want to see on to Martinez.

We'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong. I like the guy but my faith in him is certainly very low at the minute.

I project nothing but realism onto Martinez.

I backed Martinez to get the job before he got it. But last season I wasn't over the moon about events; I didn't go over the top about the progress made, I simply felt it had borne out my view. This season I've been critical of his decision making but also insistent that he needs time to show whether season one was a flash in the pan or not (I think not and that he can shine again, but I'm not 100% confident about that, no one can be).

That's it basically. I'm not and never have extended a blank cheque to martinez or any other Everton manager. I simply want this feller to have a fair crack of the whip.

But this season you do :

Martinez out - post Arsenal poll

It tells me they occur because the fickle haven't got it through their heads we have a manager who worked a miracle last season and WILL be given enough time. It's a big wind up by people with agendas. They'll crawl back under their stones soon.\

Not rattled my cage.
You were trying to be clever when you know i meant in the premiership.
If your going to make a point don't be underhand

If you're going to make a point, say what you mean the first time. You can't deny what you said and only changed it when I challenged it. Would you have clarified it if I hadn't questioned you? I doubt it.
