Luke McCormick - Should he be allowed to play again?

In Brazil Flamengo's keeper and captain Bruno was sentenced for conspiracy to murder his ex as she was suing him. He paid his cousin and an ex cop to kidnap her, take her to a remote farm and shoot her where she was cut up and fed to dogs.

Palmeiras tried to negotiate with the justice department to have him released on match days to play for them and then hand him back to prison after. Insanity.

However he WILL be released soon. He was touted as a future international and is bound to be better than Mucha - would you want him? He will have paid his debt to society too

When someone serves their time they are allowed to return to work.

What's the difference? A footballer is his job.

As long as we can get Kenwright to sue him then I'd have him in a heartbeat.

Llama that's different. That was blatent murder.

This McCormick fella made a terrible mistake. He's not evil. Still probs wouldn't want him at everton like, just for the neg publicity.

Pre planned, cold blooded murder is massively different to a drink driving accident.

I know that - but if we are going down the he has paid his debt to society line ......

I don't think jail is paying your debt to society in the slightest, personally. Just a deterrent. IMO if you steal or murder you're just as much of a no good tosser when you come out as when you enter. However if you do believe in all that then it's fair to say the cold blooded killer should be allowed to play as well.

3 f*cking years, if i see him i'l f*cking chin the [Poor language removed].

Manslaughter.

Stop getting all outraged and on a high horse. What he did was selfish, stupid and irresponcible, but it was a mistake. Not murder. Tbh the guilt he will live with for the rest of his life is enough.

High horse? The guy killed two children. Doesn't matter if he murdered them or not, he still caused their deaths by fault of his own. 3 years is a ridiculous time to spend in prison for something so terrible.

I think it absolutely matters whether he meant to do it or not. The judge has obviously realised that the guilt he will have to live with for the rest of his life is worse than any prison sentence. Jail is more about protecting the public than nessessarily punishment. The guys not evil, he's not a threat to society, and he is (rightfully) being punished everyday by knowing what he's done.

The guilt would be dreadful you're right, yeah I get your point. One could argue that people who DUI are a threat to society, as was proved by the death of 2 children. But I see what point you're making.

Winner winner.

This was a no brainer question.

That or everyone who makes that kind of life altering mistake can never work a job in their life again? I don't think so.
