Think the sentiments are understandable i.e wanting to play for a big club, but it's more the fact he doesn't feel he can help in making Everton become a big club that is frustrating. Maybe he did say that at some point and it's been lost in translation.

The lad as ambition, and his ambition is to play for one of Europes elite, which we are not. No different from Ronaldo or Suarez leaving to play for the elite.
