He's two for two. Lets be honest if he gets a decent throughball tomorrow he's got the stones to bury it. Unlike messrs Jagielka, Baines, Howard and Distin he isn't beaten before he steps on the Anfield pitch. Would be great to see the likes of Lukaku Mirallas Naismith and McGeady performing to their potential and punishing Liverpool tomorrow.

This season we are playing Naismith as that striker because, in all fairness he has been great for us. So lukaku has to then drop back or go out wide and that doesn't suit his game, or at the very least he has never done that before. If Barkley hadn't got injured then he would be playing up top and probably having a better time of things, but you don't drop a striker in form so in an everton only way, our record signing is being played simply for the sake of it.

What snivelling apologist nonsense. Naismith is playing because Lukaku has been dreadful, he's not keeping an 'unfortunate' Lukaku out the team. The £28m is an albatross around the neck, Martinez is utterly desperate for him to justify a starting berth. Been frankly calamitous, but all credit Naismith for giving a sterling account of himself this season. Without him we'd have a fair fewer points than we do now.
 
I'm picturing another Lukaku beating the ground to death moment tomorrow after a win for us, just like he did after the Old Trafford win.

Need a big game from him tomorrow.
 
you play the ball through to him and he scores. simple as. That's one aspect to his game he's got down to a tee. More of an issue is the fact we hardly ever play any through balls to him.

Through balls are a bit difficult when defenders are sat in their own box, and unfortunately we're not Barcelona to be able to pull off those nifty short balls between defenders that don't go all the way through to the keeper.

Regardless, he's clearly making an effort to improve upon his weaknesses, his hold-up play has improved immensely, he can actually trap a ball with his back to goal and turn now. His decision making will improve, right now he's just honing the individual skills which is exactly what a 21 year old should be doing.

Anyone who is trying to evaluate how he ranks as a complete player right now is mad, while it's frustrating for us fans he was not purchased to be the complete player right now.

Hope he can put in a good performance, he thrives on confidence and a winner at Anfield would be the ideal proverbial spur in his side.
 


Regardless of being out of position, that was ridiculously bad.

He was out there to bully the full back and the complete opposite ended up happening. For £28m he's got to be able to play anywhere across the front line.
 
He's not playing well anywhere. I didn't think the wide right role was a bad move for most of the match. The problem was we never looked to play him in behind the full back.

Initially, most of the balls to him were in the air, which slows down the pace of the attack as he has to bring them down, usually with his back to goal. When ever he did have it at his feet, he was poor. We have got to get him playing facing the oppposition goal. Sadly, options for competition are limited, even more so now Kev's injured so there is no pressure on him and no real option to rest him either.
