So the echo says " were confident of getting Rom" but sky sources and the tomorrows people says he's staying at Chelsea, someone's telling lies but who?
Perhaps the Everton sources are telling the Echo (and other local journalists/twitter ITK) that the deal is done whilst the Chelsea sources are telling the London media that as far as they know Rom is still their player.

Nobody has to be telling lies, just different sources with different info.

I hope this is just Chelsea digging their heals in knowing Rom wants to join us to force him to hand in a transfer request which would mean he doesn't get his 10% cut of the fee, if he has fallen out with Jose and told them he wants to join us then I can see them doing that.

Goodison Park insiders cautiously optimistic of fending off interest from Juventus and signing striker

Everton remain hopeful of fending off late interest from Italian champions Juventus to land striker Romelu Lukaku for a club record fee.

The Belgian World Cup star who netted 16 goals for the Blues while on loan last season would command a price tag in excess of £20million – eclipsing the £15million the club paid for his compatriot Marouane Fellaini six years ago.

Roberto Martinez has played a waiting game since the end of last season in an attempt to make the 21-year-old his big signing of the summer and Goodison Park insiders are now cautiously optimistic that the Catalan’s patience will be rewarded.

Lukaku has been on holiday following his exploits in Brazil but is expected to make a decision on his future this week.

The former Anderlecht man has repeatedly expressed his desire to play Champions League football which Juventus could offer but financial restraints now appear to have cooled their interest after they paid 20 million euros for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Meanwhile, the Blues have no plans to sell James McCarthy to either Manchester United or Tottenham.

Everton target Muhamed Besic has not been earmarked as a replacement for the former Wigan Athletic man who is settled playing for a manager who has been a big influence on his career.

From the Echo.

If anyone fumes over the last two paragraphs, seriously, get a life - it ain't happening.

The idea that anyone would want to move to a Spurs side that finished below us and has only just signed a new manager who spent all of one year in his last roles is pure popcorn. Doubt anyone will lose sleep over it. Does read like a copy and paste job from a PR type at the club like.

Well, we don't need to worry about Juventus anymore, they've just signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

C'mon Rom lad, sign your goddamn name on that contract for God's sake. Is that such a big think to ask for?!
