Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Speculation | Luisao eyes Benfica glory

Benfica defender Luisao has announced that he wants to win the Portuguese Liga, possibly ending reported interest from Everton.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move to England in the January transfer window, while Marseille and Fiorentina are also thought to be admirers.
Benfica, though, are eager to keep Luisao - who is under contract until June 2011 - in Lisbon.
And the 26-year-old has now indicated that he is in no hurry to leave, which suggests a New Year move is unlikely.
"My dream is to win the Liga with Benfica," Luisao told Portuguese media.

Well stocked up at centre back but he is one of the worlds best. Will be interesting to see who he leaves Benfica for.

With all these rumours of us signing a centre back that Lescott to citeh talk is looking more and more possible... :(

He's contracted till 2011 and highly rated. We're looking at loans, so even if he was to leave Benfica theres no chance of it being to us

You could look at it that way, i would look at that Moyes wants a quality addition and move Lescott permanently to left back and Luisao and Yobo in partnership with Jag as a decent back up

But Lescott doesn't want to be moved permanently to left back. And I also think Baines has the potential to become much better than Lescott is there.

I don't think Lescott will go but I also don't think that if we have such minimal funds or even only loans available to us, that we will be after defenders rather than forwards and a winger. Plus the fact we have finally clicked defensively again - four cleansheets in a row, two against the top two scoring teams in the league I believe.

He says he prefers centre half but a lot of players in the past have said such things. Baines isnt in Lescotts class

Well stocked up? You mean 3 with 1 currently injured. He would be a superb addition but cant see it

Yes, well stocked up. 3 good quality centre backs tend to be more than enough, having 4 would rock the boat too much and we would have a revolving door of centre back transfers. You couldnt expect any of Jagielka, Yobo, Lescott to sit on the bench for long periods.

In terms of signings, I would say centre back is the least of our worries. So yes, well stocked up.
