did we need him seems to me we have spent probably 1/2 a mill at least on him so far with wages and signing on fee if he was fit for the oz games then why play hibbo last saturday

Simple answer is yes, just look at our squad size, give him time to get up to speed

Hibbo is 1st choice right back and Moyes loves him.

Moyes doesnt look like he knows where to fit either Neil or Heitinga in at the moment, if at all.

It is now squad football, he loves Hibbo that much that he hooked off at h/t on Saturday

He only did that because we were impotent up front and had another right back on the pitch with Heitinga, so it was logical for him to go for the Yak to come on.

Other than that, Hibbert will only come off if he's getting skinned or has a chance of getting sent off.

I know its a squad and we have squad players. But we know what Hibberts pros and cons are, we dont know Neil's or Hetinga's without game time. Unless Moyes doesnt see them being better than Hibbo.

Same with Bily and Osman. Moyes is going to be hard pressed to drop Ossie for him IMO when Pienaar is back.

Now that is my biggest beef with the boss at present, his love of Ossie rather than Hibbo........................do you think it has something to do with them being local lads......................his preference for Ossie (plays reasonably well in one game out of five) staggers me as he has left Hibbo exposed more times than I've had posts on here

Neil did not have a great debut but he's still the best right back I've seen in a decade.
He is comfortable with the ball and his distribution is impressive. Not much hoofing and able to play some nice defense splitting passes.
He had a good game even though the right midfielder in front of him was piss poor.
Anyone notice how poor was our left side? The reason is obvious.

because our right footed right back played out of position!

I thought lucas had agood debut today His distribution was good and hard as nails in the tackle. I felt sorry for hibbo being played at RB.

I had doubt when we sign him. I thought he's just another deadwood. 45mins is all it took to change my view.

Looks like a proper right back to me, certainly from the 70 minutes or so I watched on my shitty stream.

I'd have him over both Hibbert and Heitinga at right back, I was hoping he'd cement his place and it's good to see Moyes finally giving him a game.

His aerial ability and height will also come in handy, we'll have less teams hurting us with that long diagonal ball.
