Baines has never ever played defensive mid. It'd be interesting to see, but we're not just going to chuck him there now without trying him there at all in pre season.

I am really happy with the signing of Digne. Right calibre and class to go for.

Tierney I have no idea he has to move elsewhere to fulfill his potential. Not in the Scottish league.

There's certain players (VVD, Wanyama spring to mind) that you can tell are good enough regardless of the league.

Tierney's one of them.

But, I have no issue if we have decided that Digne is the better option (in terms of quality at this moment, experience and price) to go for. I'm very happy with the signing.

People need to stop suggesting Baines playing in midfield. He’s a fine footballer, no doubt, but we severely lack pace, athleticism and height in midfield. Baines has none of these.
If we plan to play him as a cm, we’d have been better off keeping Wayne.

Baines-Digne fight will be massive. I really like Baines, hopefuly he will still have enough chances this season as he is getting old.
