I keep hearing that Digne doesn't offer much going forward yet he scored 3 goals and made 5 assists in a season at Roma , that's 3 goals more than a fullback we had managed in his whole career !

He is good going forward, he is just not Jordi Alba. Very solid defensively as well, good in the air, good positionally

Not in the immediate future no. But he'll slot in over the next 6 months. Any signing for that position had to be relatively proven and able to reasonably be able to take Baines' role rather than be a permanent understudy - Digne is exactly that; Bryan Oviedo was not.
