Player Valuation: £950k
Can't believe modric asking for move.Spurs deserve bit more loyalty than this

what you think?

He was a big name player before joining spurs, and if anything he hasn't performed as well as he could there, so I don't believe he owes them anything. It's not like he's come through the grades and been given a chance. Plus, its a promotion.

Loyalty doesn't exist in the majority of footballers nowdays, with a few exceptions.

As Everton fans we should know all about this.

There's nothing better in football (for me), than an academy kid coming through the ranks and being a one club player, I love that. Most of my favourite players ever were one. Modric already isn't though, he's not a Spurs fan either if you want to add that in to the story

Modric probably owed Zagreb more respect before joining Spurs you could argue, but money talks, its nothing new. Never nice to see though, a player pushing for a move, which he may or may not be doing in truth. The papers will make it certainly seem that way

The fact its a fierce rival always leaves a horrible taste in the mouth though

What does my head in, is the manner that these players leave the club. I know it's a job but i think Lescott's actions leading up to his transfer to City was a disgrace. It's not like we were paying him Peanuts. I just expected him to act a bit more professionally. Talking about Peanuts, i think Pienaar never disrespected our club as he negotiated his move to Spurs. He continued to give us 100% while in the Royal blue. I wish him all the best because of this (i still think he made a mistake leaving us though).

The thing that grinds with me is that Tottenham with a few additions that Redknapp has already said he is confident of bringing in, could be in the top four and competing for the title next year, Modric said as much himself, he also said the squad needs to stick together to achieve something special. 3 weeks later he wants to leave. Footballer are simply untrustworthy and mainly scumbags, with no loyalty whatsoever, not all of them, but most of them, they are nightmares.

...screw the spuds. Hope they spank the money on some waster.

Oh yeah, and Modric has every right to request a move doesn't he. He wants to play at the highest level or get paid the highest amount he can. Can't knock him for having ambition.

Football no longer belongs to the fans, sad but the truth.

Unless its down to wages and how much English clubs will pay due to the high tax rates here....players will always go for money first.

Did the RS just miss out on a free player to Newcastle? Like Ba its about wages rather than for the most part ambition

its different abroad....players like Buffon, Del Piero, Totti, Villa, Maldini, Guti, just to name a few all have stayed at clubs for up to 10 years even with no success sometimes

We got Hibbo and Ossie. Most other clubs also have their own home-grown never-be-sold staples. That is truly what makes football legends though, like the aforementioned spanish and italian players. Still, the phenomenon is present in the english game as well. Scholes and Giggs are legends, like. The latter especially. Arsenal has Ramsey and Wilshere and Walcott, not legends, but at least with their share of pedigree.

Its because people can remember when players actually gave a damn about the shirt. Then Bosman, the moody Belgian prick, came and messed it all up.

This quite possibly was the moment footy became really ****e. Since that day wages exploded and skint clubs like us did not stand a chance. FFS Bosman.
