On Talksport this morning Alan Brazil sounded rough and hungover at Cheltenham, but he had John Aldridge on the phone talking about Liverpool's game on the weekend and Aldo mentioned our support " I'm made up the game was on ITV so the whole nation can see them for the vile violent louts of supporters they have. First Lille when they attacked the police, now fighting amongst themselves. Absolute disgrace of supporters them lot. No place for them in todays game "

Brazil then agreed with him and said the Celtic supporters treat rangers players with more respect than we treat our own players. I'm fuming with Talksport!!

The Kopite bugger

Think general discontent being voiced is a positive thing... seemed to rouse the team and after most of the ground getting a bit antsy then we kicked into gear. Shame that it gets to the stage when the fans have to let the players know that the standard of performance is not good enough. Should really be Bobby's job. Agree that bollocking individuals for minor errors- especially with McArthy who gives it his all- is a bit rich, but think that fans are doing manager's job. Incidentally saw Jags slice the ball out of play t'uther week, unchalleneged, and saw Martinez applauding him. Says it all.

Nonetheless, f****** good result eh? Bossed em for 60 minutes so no complaints really. Get rid of alcatraz for the return leg and we're chillin'

I think it's time that the Park End, Main Stand and Bullens Road protested against the Lower Gwladys.

We will accept the Upper Gwladys into our ranks but only if they make public their displeasure by throwing stuff at them on Sunday.
Have you heard yourself????

There was a right mong sat next to me last night, he made me question why I go the game and more importantly why they let people out of the mad house on a thursday night for two hours.

Soon as the fans got a bit more positive the performance got better, the Boos and the groans do nothing for them. Encouragement makes the world of difference when there so shot of confidence

Puts me off going the game, makes me embarrassed to share the same love as some of these absolute tools. How can the players be expected to perform in the atmosphere last night? Last night was the first game this season I haven't been to, watched it on TV and the ITV commentators couldn't believe it. I've never heard anything like it in my life.

Talksport though innit. All shock-jock to get a rise out of people.

Aldridge is out of order saying that like. But be careful, he has blue mates and will want your address so he can send them round. Horrible creature him.

Ill reply to you and the many others all at once lol

The fans are against the team for good reason and when we arent attacking but losing then after 28 games + of a season you can understand you dont want barry to be passing it to alcaraz instead of to the striker.

but it made barry second guess much less in the second half and in turn made us more of a threat. If you know the fans will turn on you for not attacking, i noticed in Barry that he looked up a lot more when passing because he knew the fans wanted him to do that. It was almost like the fans were influencing how we played.

But more to the point, did you hear the support of the players when we were attacking and playing it forward? The noise was immense because the fans wanted us, the home team, to be attacking and getting at them.

Abuse for the sake of abuse i dont agree with but i think us fans are justified in this occasion and if it positively effects how we approach games then it can only do good.

All the abuse did was make the players second guess themselves and choose the wrong options, that first 30 minutes was vile atmosphere.

When Rom had the free kick it kicked the fans into gear and turned it into a more positive atmosphere which saw an improvement to our play, thats how the fans should be til the season out, it encourages the players so much

Poisonous support at times, but when the old lady is bouncing the place is like a Bear pit.

We go out a nervous team, players scared of losing the ball, scared of trying something different
Our crowd can be like a 1 goal advantage to the opposition, when surely it should be the other way

Over the years we have heard the Goodison groan on numerous occasions, and that collective groan should for me be enough. At this moment in time we have supporters who are going to extremes that is not acceptable.
I fully agree in letting the team know your annoyance, but what we are seeing/hearing is embarrassing and is not doing our club and team any favours.

I would rather these people stay away, as the poison is now to deep and they will never change

We

Massive over reaction here, drunken supporters, swearing shouting criticism to under performing millionaires let's ban the lot of them and bring in 30000 god fearing Mormons

What's happened to football??

I understand it to an extent mate. But it was at the point where if we didn't pass every single ball forward there were loud boos from the crowd. The Barry thing you picked up may have worked last night, but generally speaking incredible crowd pressure doesn't help anyone. What does it do for young Ross when there's 20 odd thousand people on his back if he doesn't play a killer ball every time he gets it?

The crowd was great second half, but I think you'd notice a difference in our passing game if people supported like that from the very start rather than waiting for a long ball to be played.

Crowd frustration I understand, but there's crossing the line between reasonable and ridiculous, and last night was well into the ridiculous stage.
