" Louis Saha: I almost quit football "

LOUIS SAHA is loving every minute of playing for Everton — after almost RETIRING from football last season.

The injury-plagued striker, 33, admits he struggled to come to terms with another setback in September.

He earned a recall to the France squad but limped off with a knee problem after just 10 minutes against Belarus.

Saha recovered from the injury within a month yet the anguish of that spell out made him consider quitting the game altogether.

Asked if he considered retirement, he revealed: "Yes, because sometimes it's really, really hard.

"You feel like you are being so unlucky that you feel that maybe it's not for you.

"It crossed my mind when I had my last cap with France.

"I had a really bad injury and it was really hard to take but now I'm older and I can cope with this kind of situation.

"I have got full confidence in myself and my ability.

Oh id say he was really close to , ya .

Lets hope he stays fit and manages to play a bit of it this year , could do with a dozen or more goals from King Louis this season .

He may not reach immortal status at Everton like Dunc, but in years to come I reckon we'll look back with fond memories of King Louis in an Everton kit.

...but he didn't. No offence, but the story is useless. Wouldn't expect anything else from The Sun.

Yes but i dont really care, the thread isnt. This time of night posters are thin on the ground and drinking wine pressing the refresh button hoping there are new posts on which to foist my replies isnt as much fun as it sounds.

Haha, I know the feeling. I'm wide awake too. Actually thinking about watching Howard play against Mexico at 2am. Join me?
