I don't think we need another defensive midfielder. I'd be happy to see Neville and Rodwell battle for the defensive midfield position so that we can add some quality footballers to the side, players who make a difference in the final third.

We are not even after Cana so it's not a case of Sunderland pipping us to him.
It was in the Echo the other day that the rumours were false. Yes we could do with a player like him but defensive midfield is not a priority.
We have missed out on one player we were actually after this summer, Kyle Naughton, under unfortunate circumstances. Maybe we could have done more, matched Tottenham's fee etc but to be honest everything else we did was fine, it was out of our control.
Another player we are rumoured to be interested in, Rasmus Elm, could very well sign for us.
Basically alls I am saying is we have missed out on one player (who we were actually interested in and lodged a bid) and all of a sudden it's doom and gloom, why? If this was true for the likes of Cana, Mbia etc then I would worry but it wasn't, we were never interested.

If Moyes spends many more season's without a pot to piss in, he will jump ship himself. We cannot keep going the way we are with such a small squad. One or two key injuries can completely ruin a season.

Good point mate, but I just think when players like this are available for such a fairly small price we should have a little sniff.
But I would rather we spent the money on a Moutinho, Defour or Van Der Vaart type player. I mean clearly the Everton way, so think less talented, but same type.

Well said. Of all of the needs Everton has, a defensive midfielder is not one. Although I'd still like to have him, best that money go other places.

Agreed, if we are short on spending money we must use it carefully, the right side and defense should be top priority imo. Though i'm sure Cana would be a good signing especially for the amount of money Sunderland are rumoured to be paying, I do feel that we have players who can give us the help we need in Cana's position already.
