My hosuemate plays LoL loads. Always on that or TF2 with somes guys we know off the net. I remember him telling me about this a while ago, crazy the cash they get for this, isn't it one of the biggest pay outs in pro-gaming??

Yeah I think it is, $1m is some serious prizemoney.

Well basically its like this :

Each team has 5 players, at the start each team will take turns in banning 3 champions each, then they take turns in picking from the remaining 100 or so champions in the game.

Then the game starts.

The game is split into 3 lanes each side, with 2 towers in each lane. Each team will try and protect those lanes. in the middle of the lanes is whats called the jungle, with mobs that give buffs.

They will split into certain roles.

1 person will go solo top and he will farm minions whilst trying to kill the other dude from the other team.
1 person will go mid and do the same.
2 people will go bottom, 1 will support, basically make sure his team mate doesnt die, the other, called the AD Carry will farm minions and try to get as many items to do damage as possible.
1 person will go jungle, he will farm the minions in the jungle and try and "gank" other lanes and kill people.


Basically they will farm and try and kill, but sooner or later the most towers will fall and they will start to group for team fights, where they will basically try and push into the other teams base and end the game.

I always get confused with the tactics. Why do they always send 2 bottom? Why not 2 top or middle? I'm totally newb at it. Anyone else play?

I know duals plays, not sure if anybody else does tho.

The tactics change all the time, at some point they used to send 2 middle and sometimes even now, some teams will send 2 top.

But the current "meta" is to 1top, 1middle, 2bot, 1 jungle.

Its done so everybody gets "farm" by killing the mini mobs, farms gives gold, which you use to buy items to murder people!!
