So today marks the start of the League of Legends World Championship.

The playoffs serve as the beginning of the Season’s end where twelve of the World’s top teams collide in Los Angeles. Teams representing China, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, North America, and Europe skirmish for their share of $2,000,000 and the chance to go head to head in the World Finals. Two teams at the top of the elimination bracket will meet at the World Finals on October 13th to fight for the $1,000,000 grand prize and the title of Season Two World Champions.

So the winning team will win a share of $1m.

Some of the teams have already earned contracts for next "Season" that will mean a yearly salary of $175k.
On top of sponsorship money, plus ad revenue from streaming and in some cases websites, there will be some seriously loaded nerds.

Not bad for playing games hey.

Its fun when you have a team of mates, most of my mates have left to play GW2, I did for a bit, but GW2 bores the hell out of me, so im back playing LoL. Ive even just downloaded Aion again, FFS.

But yeah, the main point of the thread was how much money these nerds are gonna earn.

They can last anything from 20mins to very rarely over an hour.

Most games will last around 40minutes, unless 1 team just destroys the other or its a close back and forth battle.

This first game is late, but then they normally are, should start soonish.

Azubu Frost is a Korean team, considered 1 of the favourites, they should crap all over IG.

My favourite team is CLG.eu, they have an outside chance of winning, but the winner should come from either Moscow 5, TeamSoloMid, AzubuFrost, CLG.eu and CLG.na have an outsiders chance, but im gonna be cheering for CLG.eu.

They have a Scottish player called Snoopeh, he da man.

Yeah theres normally a slight delay in starts of these tournys, somebody pulls a plug out or something.
