Liverpool sign £25M per year shirt deal

I dont think the club makes a mark up from shirt sales, im almost certain we gave the rights to Kitbag/Le Couq for the retainer.

That's my point/query, though: if the trend is that the club are selling more and more shirts in the last half decade, then these outsourcing deals in exchange for a lump sum up front are doing us no favours whatsoever - depending on volume shifted.

Its worth querying ive been really dissapointed with the outsourceing strategy, obviouly there is a huge mark up otherwise why would LeCouq and Kitbag do it, like i say i think the gaurenteed income appeases the banks, relegation proof and what not - thus appealing to the board.

Not that i agree with it but the +/- is if we do well it looks peanuts if we were say relgated it looks like a good deal.

*Id lump the Chang Deal in there in too.

Unbelievable, shame we couldn't play on past glories like they do.

We've got to do much better in our future negotiations with partners and suppliers, much better.

Winning stuff would help like.

The club are rubbish at this sort of stuff, absolutely rubbish. They have two revenue streams where most other clubs of our size and status have three. They stick their hand out for the tv money and ticket money. They've proven themselves incapable of growing the club commercially - two shambolic stadium failures fill the gap where that strategy should be. The outsourcing of goods and services just reeks of short termism and a fundamental mistrust of the quality of their own 'product'.

The organisation is full to the gunnels of clueless, visionless and cowardly people, and that's why we are where we are.

Why We Are Where We Are - An in depth look at Everton's commercial development under the chairmanship of Bill Kenwright

Dave K £14.99

"A most thorough dismantling of Everton's lacklustre attempts at creating revenue in the modern football world"

"Dave hits the nail on the head more than once, he's almost playing whack-a-mole with the big players in the Everton boardroom"

"Mr K is sometimes a little over the top in his condemnation of Everton's commercial enterprise, but there are some surprising revelations contained within"

"That's fair comment Martin, you have to say"

"Don't be sat there smug either Lord Carter, you smug Tory [Poor language removed]."

"You won't be laughing at Venkys when Blackburn actually pay money for a player this summer."

"Has anyone got a Benson & Hedges to lend me until tomorrow."

Around 900,000 ****e shirts sold annually you say?

Yeah, and about 899,000 of those shirt owners wouldn't know Liverpool's starting line up if it bit them in the ass.

At least Everton sells some...can you imagine being a Bolton fan? who would buy that? with that logo, you'd think they'd have to pay whomever knits them to get enough for the team. I wouldn't take one if it were given free.

Everton has the best kit and its because of Chang. It is hands down the coolest...the pink away notwithstanding!

"I'd buy it. He called me a ginger prick and wor lad was right on the money, tae be fair.. He's tough but he's fair.

50 60?

If that 3 million pound figure is true its a shambles granted we're not as "sexy" as the ****e but that's incompetence by the "marketing" team

^^^^^^^^^^^^this.....even when we were winning the league our commercial people were ****e.....rather than buying more players I would rather that we put £10M say into buying some good marketing and commercial people....worth their weight in gold...

There's a lot of surprising bitterness in this thread - it's surprising as I don't generally see us as bitter, no matter what they call us.

Fact is, Liverpool have a far superior brand, a better marketing team and are generally better ran than us.

It's Asda compared to a corner shop basically.
Its hard to disagree if theres any nastiness, for me at least its down to our clubs sheer ineptitude in the marketing department fair play to them they've got a brand a bit sullied over the last few years becuase of their bad management but they seem to have a plan now will it work?

Time will tell.

Meh I'm not bothered. The fact is, the sh*te are still the sh*te. The sh*te supporters have to live with being sh*te supporters. Most of the sh*tes fans are wool cockneys like me, and who the [Poor language removed] wants a stadium full of EFCNIK's? No-one.

The sh*te can stick their 25mill deal up their arrogant self riteous poo shoots.

Wouldn't change Ebepton for the world.

Now, RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!

are there any links confirming this besides the daily mail? the deal includes a shirt deal with the red sox, so how much of it will actually go to liverpool? also warrior gear in my experience is ****, i doubt they'll sell nearly as much as before, especially without european football to raise their profile. somehow i don't think liverpool lax pennies will catch on.

as for our sales, i think one of our biggest problems is shipping costs, which i've complained about numerous times. it doesn't make sense for me to pay the same rate to ship a shirt to my house next to DC as it does to ship to the solomon islands. we need to raise the accesibility of everton goods in growing markets outside of continental europe. then if we start generating some revenue from kit sales, we'll have a better negotiating position when it comes time to signing a new kit deal.
